TLDR: meat is not safe, eat vegetarian.

Been here twice now, first time I had carne asada nachos and a very upset stomach. Second time was carnitas nachos (love nachos fyi) and mild food poisoning (naturally recovered in 2 weeks). However, my vegetarian friend had no problems whatsoever.

This is one of the only places open late near my buddies house hence why I tried it twice even after the bad experience. I believe the meat is not safe, if you are eating here eat vegetarian. Otherwise walk 2 blocks to Primo pizza that is also open late (although their pizza is average and takes a long time, it is safe).

My friends joke about me having an ‘Indian’ stomach and can eat pretty old food or street food that would otherwise make them sick. If you do not have a ‘strong’ stomach then avoid this place altogether. Unfortunately, I am obliged to give a one star rating because this place may actually be dangerous to some.

Note that both times I ate here it was 1-2AM. It is likely that their food is fresh in the morning but gets bad by night time - so take that into...

This place is my favorite! I am an SF mission native and have tried a high percentage of taquerias and this is one of my favorite. Don’t know if it’s related to the one on haight but the one on haight was extremely unpleasant and this one was just consistently amazing. The steak has this great grill smoke flavor and the Al pastor is amazing. Some days u get better Al pastor than others- I like the crunchy pieces. But they always pay attention to my special instructions and the tortas are great. I haven't tried much other meats but the asada and pastor are great and the salads are also delicious. One thing: eating there gives the full 5 star experience. They have a salsa bar that is a plethora of delicious salsas. When you order though, they should start give salsas- no salsas come with the chips or food so either purchase or ask for a side praying they'll get it. All in all, amazing. The pozole...

Sure! Here’s a more casual, humanized version of your review, keeping the essence intact while switching out those specific words:

Hands down, the best "RIBEYE BARRIA" I've ever had. The beef is like something your grandma would’ve made—tender and full of flavor. The flavors are simple and true to the dish. Everything is top quality and made fresh! The verde salsa is spot on—not too spicy, just perfect. It's made the old-school way and presented just right!

I don’t usually write long reviews, but this one’s different. If you haven’t been to El Rancho Grande yet, do yourself a favor—go. I absolutely recommend it.

Support this gem on Irving Street in SF! California has no shortage of great food, but this one’s a keeper.

Let me know what you think or if you want to tweak...

I have to say this is the most disgusting burrito I’ve ever had in my entire life. Usually there’s something redeemable about a burrito but this one was just horrible all around. The guacamole was runny and tasteless, the chile relleno pepper was hard, and in general it tasted like one of the ingredients had gone bad. Turns out it was the salsa. It has some kind of sweet flavor that tastes like it’s turned. Unfortunately, I didn’t discover this until I got home. I just threw it out. And I got charged 25¢ bag fee, which isn’t that much, but I literally had a bag with me that I could’ve put the burrito in if she’d asked. What a waste of money. Don’t go here.

I do my best to eat here at least once a day... Quesadilla or super burrito, sometimes the cheese steak combo deal (very good). I believe this is the best El rancho grande location out of the three I have been to and out of them all I've been eating here daily for at least 7 to 10 years definitely at an El rancho grande since I arrived in San Francisco at the age of 17 (only 1 week from my 18 the), from Salisbury, MD. I'm 47 now, and moved to Divisadero about 13 years ago.. (Yak Yak Yak) My name is Raven and I usually am out in front of here trying to obtain a horchata or some sort of burrito quesadilla combo from here elephants please help me out

Fantastic, unassuming spot with truly delicious and hard-to-find Mexican specialties. The Mission taquerias may get all the hype, but why fight the crowds there when you can get your delicious taqueria staples (carne asada here is awesome) like tacos, burritos, nachos, tortas, and quesadillas, as well as rare dishes like camarones a la diabla (slightly sweet, VERY tasty) and the molcajetes, which you can get in rojo or verde sauces. I have a slight preference for rojo but both are superb, well worth sharing with a friend or two. I didn't have a go-to spot for Mexican food until now; I'm so glad to find it in my neighborhood!
