I’ve been Enjoying the delicious amazing food and clean, inviting atmosphere and outstanding customer service for over 30 years! I believe I posted a review on yelp years ago, and after dining here again today, this Google review is long overdue. I’m a 4th gen San Francisco native and I’ve tried all the burrito spots and I always come back here and recommend this restaurant to everyone seeking good food in La Mission. I love the super burritos - carne asada alone or mix with plump grilled shrimp is exceptional.the carnitas juicy and always great satisfying portions, flavorful, and fresh. The quesadillas with steak or chicken (super) is a symphony of savory goodness. Sometimes I get a plate of the yummy enchiladas (omg the queso) and chicken flautas with rice and beans. Well-proportioned tacos of all kinds, with various meats and toppings, create an explosion of vibrant flavors that dance on your taste buds. The fresh sauces, especially love the verde tomatillo, perfect citrus lime balanced and a nice Jalapeño kick. The chipotle orange salsa is not just a condiment it’s a fiesta in your mouth. Sandia Agua Fresca with ice, omg I wish I could take home gallons of this. The chips are crispy fresh. I’m telling you this is the SPOT you can’t go wrong. Back in the day aired a local show on KPIX 5 with Richard Hart called Evening Magazine that featured a story on El Tepa and awarded them best in the city!!! It’s not like I live close by or come here every day but every time I do visit even if there’s been gaps of months or maybe even years they always deliver what I anticipate and I always get what I expected. It’s so consistent and just delish. The staff everyone is very accommodating and friendly with a smile and is a welcoming bright Overall atmosphere. The restroom is well kept clean as well as the presentation over-the-counter. When I was in the restroom, the soap was running low and I informed them at the front counter. They were very accommodating and quick to refill it, and in the meantime, even offered for me to use the sink behind the register if I needed to wash my hands. All of these little things are the welcoming signs of excellent customer service and why they are still around as a long-standing SF dining establishment. Very well maintained and great food whenever I yearn for good Taqueria eats. I Love El TEPA and YOU WILL TOO! Awesome family feels hospitality. I hope they’re around for many more...
Read moreThe employees need to learn to treat people better who constantly spend money with them; regular customers is what keeps your business going. If I get a burrito bowl I want to see green, not white any kind of lettuce that you're using that has white has no nutrients. We should have the option of mixed greens because if you're getting a bowl you're trying to stay a little healthy. I just didn't like the energy. You can't get frustrated with people for them paying for what they want. Regardless to if you feel like something doesn't go on a taco or a burrito; that's not for them to dictate how other people eat. They get extra irritated if you watch them closely and kind of dictate how they make your food. They shouldn't get irritated with you if you want lettuce in your burrito bowl first...
Read moreI used to live nearby and found myself eating here again last night. This place has really capped its good high standards. In terms of keeping the place clean, orderly and very good customer service. The food is just a little above average but as of the people have mentioned the salsas are very good. The other food that is above average for a taqueria is the flan. Definitely one of the better taqueria flans I have had. Also have the chicken regular burrito and it was very good as well as the chips. They are a nice light quality chip. The lime agua fresca. You don't see everywhere so that was also...
