I'm totally surprised this place isn't slammed with business and +30min waits yet. The food is fantastic and the workers are wonderful and attentive. They're ready for the fame and rush of business but it hasn't come yet—I think it's time.

It's not cheap per se but we definitely weren't gouged, it was a very reasonable price for the quality of omakase, tapas, and experience. The head chef was generous and very chill. For tapas, they were refreshingly original. I was worried some of the flavor profiles were going to be too much, but it was all delicious. We ordered the mentaiko udon during both visits; its garlicky aromatics and roe flavor was absolutely killer, highly recommend. My personal fav was the eryngii mushrooms but I'm a sucker for anything fungi

During both visits (weekdays ~7pm), the experience was peaceful and only a handful of patrons dined with us. As much as we love the restaurant to ourselves, they deserve the clout and you should 100% check it out. The atmosphere is calm, mood-lit, and full of character. Anime figures and posters hidden throughout, which is a plus from me. It's on Dolores, so parking may be tricky at peak hours, but I never had a problem.

This is one of our favorite date-night spots and we want to share it with others. Do yourself a favor and...

Absolutely blown away by this sushi spot. It’s a hidden gem with the perfect mix of cozy romantic ambiance and truly top tier sushi. The lighting is soft and intimate which makes it ideal for a date night or a quiet evening to treat yourself.

The nigiri is next level. Fresh, delicate, and full of flavor. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and letting the chef choose a few pieces for you if you’re open minded.

Because of the chef I discovered that I absolutely LOVE Horse Mackerel Nigiri, Kutuso, and Shima Aji. These were things I probably never would have picked on my own but now I can’t stop craving them.

Every piece felt like it was crafted with care and precision. You can really taste the passion and expertise behind each bite. Already dreaming about my next visit. Easily one of my favorite sushi experiences in...

Found this highly-rated spot and it was fantastic. It's a wonderful fusion of traditional Japanese sushi and creative modern tapas. I loved their philosophy, which is even stated on the menu: they 'do not appreciate: FANCY ROLLS.' That's when you know they're serious about quality.

Everything we tried was delicious, but the absolute standout was the Mentaiko Udon. It exceeded all expectations. It was incredibly fragrant, perfectly seasoned (not too salty), and rich without being heavy at all. A must-order!

Another must-try is the Iku-uni-himo appetizer, which is a perfect bite of uni (sea urchin), monkfish liver (ankimo), and ikura (salmon roe). They finish it with a drizzle of truffle oil at the table. For the nigiri, the Scallop was the best we had—so fresh and sweet.

Highly recommend this place. A true gem...

It was great, not many places are great at both sushi (omakase format) and Izakaya food. They pull it off, and deserves its current 4.8. If it’s not already, it should be a bib. One of the better Udons I’ve had and the nigiri had the right rice <> fish combo, the fish was excellent, and the rice was cooked right. I can get detailed and say that I think the temperature of the rice could be optimized, but then we’re talking about making something already fantastic into an even higher level. Overall, great, and good service too. Don’t always leave reviews, but def check this out. The quintessential neighborhood sushi spot with a bonified Izakaya as well.

Surprised that not more people know about this little gem. Easy to get to from 24th st bart station in a quiet neighborhood. Quality nigiri omakase at unbeatable prices (~$50 for 8 pcs). Plenty of unique tapas to choose from as well. Some of my favs outside of omakase include their uni squid, trumpet mushrooms, uni and ikura over rice with shaved frozen ankimo (can’t recall the name at the moment). Some favorite nigiri pieces are halibut, blue shrimp, mantis shrimp if it’s on the menu, scallop, and eel. Perfect place to get your omakase fix. Recommend sitting at the bar and watching Chef George work his magic!
