Lone Palm — Restaurant in San Francisco

I am a local critic of bars in San Francisco looking at certain bars, at request. And tonight has been the worst yet. If I could give zero stars I would, firstly. The place isn’t a friendly place to be. I would tell You the name of the bar tender that absolutely bombed my experience but she(at the minimum) didn’t have the training to at least tell me who she was. She presented herself at the lowest of standards as possible. I was there for 30 seconds and I have never been treated as badly than her. I can’t decide what was worse, Her snooty attitude or her awful service towards a customer. Seriously, If you want to be treated than less than what she earns on a weekly basis(which I guarantee is not much) then this is your place....

We had never been to San Francisco before and had a few hour layover, during which our local friend brought us here saying it was the best bar in the city. We couldnt have agreed more. Friendly/ helpful service, clean bathrooms, delish cocktails (REAL ones. Maybe not to the extent of having egg whites on hand to make a Fizz [that actually made it better/ more local feeling], but she was the first bartender we ran into outside of Vegas or New York that could easily make a Penicillin no questions asked), awesome snack bowls (needed after a couple cocktails before heading back to the airport), and...

This is, and has been for over a decade, my favorite neighborhood bar. It's best when it's not elbow-to-elbow, which can happen at peak times on the weekends, but the unbearable crowdedness typically doesn't last too long because it's hard to enjoy yourself if you're not seated; almost every square inch of the place is occupied by tables with white tablecloths and candles. And the CRT television playing some classic black-and-white movie or another...
