Five Rivers Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in San Francisco

Beware of the owners of this restaurant. Their old Five Rivers Indian Cuisine location in Westlake Shopping Center was forced to close by the landlord because of long term rodent infestation issues. That stated, my food orders from Five Rivers Indian Cuisine have been delicious. With only one order that had a piece of steel wire inside an order of naan . Guessing that steel wire thread was used to kleen the cooking equipment the naan is made on. But was missed during the cleaning. Otherwise Five Rivers Indian Cuisine has been very good.

Don't expect outstanding service here. But it's solid and relatively quick if you are eating in or taking out.

We really liked the food. Was confused by the Curry Pizza sign.. but this is 5 Rivers. We had butter chicken, Kahari chicken, garlic naan and somosa, with a side of mango chutney. We had asked for the kahari chicken mild for our son and they actually made it mild (the rest of us had to add pepper). All was soo good. Beautiful basmati rice came with it. Somosa got much praise. Prices were reasonable and this easily fed our family of 4. Good portions. Naan was thin, not fluffy like many places, but good to make a little wrap, and fresh. Tandoori chicken takes 30 minutes!! We stopped by this place for lunch with my 7-year-old son, who loves trying new foods, and my wife. We thought I'd order the tandoori chicken and maybe a couple of other dishes. But when we were told the tandoori chicken takes 30 minutes, we suddenly got really busy!
