Sunset Branch Library — Attraction in San Francisco

I'm an architectural nerd and I love historic buildings, so when we went to the Harold Washington Library I automatically got excited. I thought the library was historic because the pediments are classical and the roofs have allegorical figures. I found out later it was designed in 1987 and built in 1991. They fooled me! Oh well. I still love the building and the library is massive! Nine floors and over 750,000 square feet! Just like other public libraries, they have free wifi which is a life saver. I bring my itouch everywhere and depend on free wifi to find historic landmarks and other places to eat. A great place...

Printing and scanning is ridiculously easy here! Staff is kind and helpful, and you can tell there is a lot of care that goes into book and media curation. There is always a wide variety of new books, and the audio book collection is also impressive. So much knowledge and skills-building completely free with a library card. I’m in love with this library. It has a great collection of books and resources for you to learn and study and read. It is quite peaceful and you’ll definitely be focused here it is quite close to the Golden Gate Park so that comes in handy and the staff here, are exceptionally sweet and kind they have been very helpful.
