Wait time- For a Sunday in SF the wait time wasn’t horrendous. My friend and I waited about 30 mins but only because they couldn't read my name on the waiting list. So when you place you name down on the list make sure it’s legible because they will surly skip over it.
Food- Now the food is the saving grace of this place because it was quite delicious. I ordered the Cowgirl which consisted of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, with 2 chicken-apple sausages. It was an extremely hearty meal for only $12. They have 3 choices for pancakes, buttermilk, cornmeal and buckwheat. I couldn’t decide between the cornmeal and buttermilk so our waitress kindly suggested getting one of each. SCORE! The cornmeal outshined the buttermilk easily. It’s mealy texture it subtle sweetness combined to make a really unique taste. The chicken-apple sausage was tasty as well. Not too sweet but very tender and juicy.
Service- Our waitress was super nice but the host/bus boy certainly carried an attitude. I was on my way to the airport and had all my bags and when we were being seated he told us to we could sit bar side. When my friend pointed out we had too many bags to sit there he made a smug remark. Also when he bused our table I heard him complaining to another table that he doesn’t make enough for the “meager” tip we left. We left close to an 18% tip for a meal that was about $22 so his remarks were unwarranted and rude.
But yea this place is pretty quaint, with outdoor seating. Probably wouldn’t go on a rainy day because the inside is really small. Also there are a bunch of cute signs leading to the bathroom with instructions how to get there and remarks about...

A friend & I shared the mini-donut-esque things..beignets. BOMB. And I had a poached egg with grits (sidenote: "like the kind you ate in prison" - as soon as I saw that description, I knew it was my kind of place) and cornbread. No complaints, though it was kinda a carb/sweet overload but that was my bad. My friend got a chili scramble or something and it had cornbread in it. Never seen that before. He ate all of it despite being hungover so I'm guessing it was pretty good. Would definitely come back here, if just for the beignets.
Our waiter was honest with his recommendations and overall the service was dec. The place is a little dinky so not really somewhere you go for the ambiance.
Update: Have been back several times now with the boo. We've tried most of the things on the menu by now and loved it everytime. Once, I asked for a side of grilled chicken, and I appreciated it when they acted that was a totally normal...
Read moreI was recently in the neighbourhood with my friend on our way to another place (lol) - and we easily got distracted by the line and the amount of activity outside of Just For You Cafe, the large sign out front for their beignets certainly helped. After grabbing some coffee at a place nearby, we ended up doubling back to take a closer look at the Just For You Cafe menu and ultimately bought some beignets. As to-go items (since the outdoor and indoor areas were both packed), the beignets traveled well and were still warm and crisp, not soggy, after eating them a little while later. I ordered the classic powdered beignet as well as a second one with chocolate dipping sauce and both options were definitely winners in my book. This cafe is slightly out of the way for me, but based on its clear popularity with the neighbours and my own experience with my order, I would look forward to visiting here again in the future and trying some of their...
