Hala Hala Cafe — Restaurant in San Francisco

I think this cafe deserves more credit and attention than it gets for a cafe in this area

I come here pretty often for the coffee. I’m pretty big on espresso and their coffee always tastes high quality wether it’s a latter or an americano. They have plenty of seating and good WiFi . The tables are also always clean which is always great, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this place messy I’ve only tried their food once and it was pretty good, I had a breakfast sandwich and for the price it was decent Every time I come here the staff is very friendly, and when they close they aren’t rude about it at all, they let you work but also we as customers should respect their operating hours. The staff is always pleasant here. The music is a little loud but there is also an upstairs to work at to get a little further away. I appreciate the music not being obnoxious. But it could be lowered a bit not just for working but also just hearing the cashiers speaking...

I love trying new local coffee shops however I did not have the best experience here :(

It was my first time visiting so I asked the barista who took our order what the mission chill was and how it differs from a regular vietnamese coffee since the drink was described as "our take on a vietnamese coffee". To which she replied word for word "I dont know, I dont drink coffee." Which was so off putting! How does a worker not know her own menu? Why should I spend my money or trust her to make my coffee when she doesn't know. That aside, why is someone who doesn't drink or enjoy coffee working at a coffee shop?

To make matters worse I reached out to the owners online about my experience to which they replied "thank you, which location was this?" thats all! No apology, no accountability.

I came by this place while working out in the field for my job. Had to stop somewhere for a quick zoom meeting and found this gem. The drink selection has all of your cafe essentials plus awesome unique twists on your favs. Their hot pastrami sandwich was fantastic, and this is given i had to wait to eat it until after my call so i can only imagine how it is straight from kitchen. And the atmosphere is such an amazingly welcoming and friendly place. I saw a few regulars come and go. If i lived in the neighborhood i probably would become one of them.
