La Copa Loca Gelato — Restaurant in San Francisco

I may call this is sorbet shop. They have so many kind of sorbet along with gelato. Taste is really good. Not crazy sweet. Some special flavor for ice cream and sorbet like tamarind / papaya.

I got the 6 scoops in the box.

Papaya: sound interesting to try but not good. Very bland. No has papaya favor at all. 1/5 mix berry: sweet. Ok 4/5 low calorie mango: good sweet. Good taste 5/5 tamarind: good taste 5/5 chocolate hazelnut: really good 5/5 rum with raisin: the best!!! It’s very rare that they have it here. I always have this one with different brand name ice cream box. Glad that they make it. Very good flavor and not too sweet. 5/5

Ice cream and sorbet is well made. There are a lot of different flavor for every one choice. Aside from ice cream scoop with cone. They also have crepes, and big container for ice cream from 6 scoops up.

Service is ok. Very fast service. But all staff not so happy to help and seem very rush to take order . My first time being here. I need sometime to check out the menu also how to order.

Restroom available for customer and public. Sorry to say. So disgusting and uncomfortable. Understand that this is busy street and so many ppl come to use the restroom and hand around dine in area.

Street parking only. Peak hour may difficult to find parking spot. You can park on van ness ave and easy walk couple blocks to the shop.

Not expected much for dine in or group hang out as i feel unpleasant. Good for quick stop by to pick up and leave. But honestly ice cream and sorbet are really good. Worth a try. After having dinner nearby, my friends and I wandered to La Copa Loca for some dessert. We came in about 15 minutes before closing and there was one person working behind the counter. She was really impatient with us because we weren't making our minds fast enough and I'm sure she wanted to close up shop.

Anyways, La Copa Loca offers a lot of different gelatos and sorbets. I tried the white chocolate mint, dragon fruit, and pineapple. I really liked the dragon fruit sorbet, but the sample that I tried was really chunky. I ended up getting a single scoop of pineapple sorbet in a sugar cone because the sample I tried was smoother. The pineapple sorbet had a light pineapple flavor and not overly sweet. For the most part, my sorbet was smooth, but there were some big icy chunks.

When I paid for the desserts my friends and I got, the receipt machine ran out of paper, which made the worker helping me out even more impatient. When she finally figured out how to reload the receipt paper correctly, there was no line for me to sign for my credit card and she just told me to sign somewhere on the receipt. I thought that was unprofessional in my opinion and her friends standing around, waiting for her to get off of work didn't...

OMG what an amazing little gem! Our family doesn't do dairy, so to have such a wide (and delicious) variety to choose from was a real treat. Sooo many yummy sorbet flavors that are hard to find (like dragon fruit, mamey, cardamom and kiwi). Plus wonderful gelato standbys like stracciatella, chocolate hazelnut, and lemon sorbet.

The gents were remarkably helpful and offered suggestions on different flavor pairings. And you can get a couple flavors YAY! We were nearly overwhelmed with delicious options - but that just means more visits LOL
