Hearth Bar — Restaurant in San Francisco

Polite barkeeps chat amidst a pleasant mix of grizzled regulars and one-time adventurists. Decor is pleasantly old-guard, and prices are very reasonable. There's an old-guard video game in the back, and a separate area with a pool table off to the side. There's no food served on the premises, but a Jack-in-the-Box is 50 yards away, and nobody minds if you bring in grub and wash it down with a pint. Regulars are chatty during the early hours, and somewhat clannish (as is the case with most bars in he area) later at night. Overall? A great dive bar in The Richmond District of San Francisco. The term "dive bar" does not indicate anything negative. They have a strong liquor selection and decent beers, too. This was one of my favorite bars however it has changed a little since new ownership took over
