Heung Yuen — Restaurant in San Francisco

My my. TITLE: THE FALL OF A GREAT RESTAURANT...

Well, there goes 1 of the best. Sent friends of mine visiting from Finland to the restaurant my international friends and family and Co workers have been going to for about 20 years now. The food was NOT great to them. But when they brought my order back. I understood why?

The order was wrong 2 items out of 4. I personally spoke to the server on the phone. Her English was bed but she repeated my order back to me. So she was just repeating what I said. Seriously??? My food has never in 20 years been that poorly prepared. It was awful, except 1 of the FLAVORS. I ordered beef it was chicken.

I remember when there was an old Chinese lady who remembered everything from 4 years before. She quit but she was good.. good times. Not like this girl who literally cannot speak English and gave me the wrong orders... That's just me venting not a number.

Ok. Now 2 of the orders were 1/2 orders. They were not full orders but amaller portions. But charged full price. That really passes me off!

When I called to speak to the manager, the lady answered, then said in really really bad English. "No manager here!" I asked if I could speak to someone who spoke a little better english.... SHE SAID: NO!

THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!

MY MY. HAS ALL OF SAN FRANCISCO JUST COMPLETELY FALLEN???

THERE LITERALLY IS NO REASON TO GO BACK TO SAN FRAN FOR ME...

Highly disappointed. I was so excited to try the Peking duck with coworkers after grinding out some heavy duty work. I told them about it and they agreed to all drive out Heung Yuen. When I checked the hours of operation online I read 1100 o'clock open time. We got there at 1035...waited till 1055 when one of the employees opened up the door. We asked if we could possible put in our order a few minutes early. The employee then tells us they are opening at 12 noon. When we asked about their posted hours online with a 1100 open time the employee said covid and walked away. I couldn't believe the no care attitude. I work for a huge local employer and had my uniform on. They could have gained a few dozen customers over the weekend. I guess they do so well they don't care about getting new customers. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to review this gem of a spot! I’ve been going here since the womb—literally! This place has beaten gentrification in the hood & it’s a blessing. Korean chicken is the complete best! It’s essential to place it in EVERY order lol Honey Walnut Prawns are bomb, beef w/ broccoli—BOMB. (Just to name a few)
