This McDonalds: Built for speed. Drive thru ordering BIFURCATED! (2 ordering stations on separate tarmac which later merge for pickup queue. Has to be one of the most experienced, high volume MCDees (yes, nutz) in NorCal.
I wonder what it would take to put a wrinkle in any given fast food joint. Eg. What's the limit on what i can order. Could i order 50 big macs? 100 milk shakes? 1000 servings of large fries?
Well, it's possible to order at least 25 various burgers at once without so much as a comment from faculty/staff @ this location..
Point is: well managed, high throughput, courteous, professional services at this location!
The drive thru queue moved swiftly.
Mcdonald's consistently offers tasty reasonable quality food inexpensively and very quickly. In addition, prep times and wait times are unquestionably the fastest in the industry.
The mobile ordering app is quite good and reliable, and it's policy of not charging you for your order until cashier/food handler confirms you picked up the food is a really brilliant solution in this space for having a final catch-all error trap. TLDR: If ordering with app, you can always bail up until you take the food.
What this solves: you don't have to deal with getting a refund for an order you just paid for, but then discover that there are no more shakes, or fry machine is broken, or we don't have STROOPWAFFEL McFlurries here, etc.
Other chains have not quite worked out a good policy for issuing returns for their inventory/fulfillment glitches
Thus i have let-go (ie donated!!) To several large fast food chains amounts of $12 to $22 here and there because of lost orders, supply chain issues, store closures due to emergency and system assumed my order was fulfilled, etc etc.
You can tell i rarely eat fast food! So these problems are things you may never have encountered, but like everything in this universe, stick around long enough and Everything will...
Read moreI love the big breakfast with pancakes at McDonald's except for one thing that the servers on this shop can't make right, the hot Mocha that I always order but without milk or whipped cream. Due to stomach issues I prefer it that way. But they always do it their way when on the other store I got my order right. Mocha without whip cream and milk is simple (coffee, espresso shot, chocolate, and chocolate drizzle) that's is all. I've been on this store several times and there was only one server who did it right and I praise her for that if only I knew her name. I had an encounter with one of their staff today, with the same drink and she was like, "Why would she order mocha with no milk? Is there a mocha with no milk? Mocking my preference for my drinks. Even heard her talking with another staff saying "Why order mocha when she just want an espresso?" This staff can't tell the difference of mocha having an espresso and chocolate in it. Making it sound like she knows and I don't know what I am trying to order. If only I have option to get roasted coffee with espresso shot and chocolate, that would be my choice. They should know better, they need training. I was hoping to get my favorite morning drink to start my day but they just ruin it. I forgot her name but I can't forget her face. Definitely would not like to come back in this location even if it's just few blocks from our house. Will just go to a different store...

This time I was trying to get a healthy option for a meal which was apparently very difficult to communicate to the drive thru order taker. It didn't seem hard to me as when I've asked for a sandwich with no bun at other McDonalds locations that's usually an easy one. And instead of fries I wanted a side salad, well "you can't do that" really means she didn't know how to do that on the register's computer. At the very least it is actually pretty simple to get your supervisor to help you rather than holding up the drive thru line (people were honking) or just asking your teammates in the back who make the food to not put a bun on the sandwich and not make the fries.
It seemed like an inexperienced team mate was put in at the drive thru order taking station at the worst time, I'd suggest to management they a. Train their people how to deal with orders that are more than just the standard meal, and b. Get the more experienced workers on the order taking station during rush periods.
Thanks to the supervisor tho he helped out and saved the experience from being a bad one, and the person at the handout window who knew subbing in a side salad for the fries was as easy as just doing...
