Very good Thai food. My wife had a thick curry soup with egg noodles. I don't recall the name. She said it's similar to a Malaysian curry soup.
Our friend loved the Pad Kee Mao.
And I had the gluten free Pad Thai. It was one of the better ones I've had. Not as flavorful as some of the other places but it was still a very solid version. One thing I appreciated was that it wasn't too sweet which is an issue at some places.
The free soup that comes with the lunch special was also gluten free. It's a veggie broth type of soup. Pretty decent.
They also had gluten free curries. I didn't ask what other gluten free options they had, but my impression was it went beyond Pad Thai and curries.
There's metered parking. But if you're okay with walking a short distance, you can park in the neighborhood for free; just watch out for the hours on the signs.
Service was good. Ambiance was normal. Not the place to go for vibe, but nothing bad either. All in all a 5 star experience other...
Read moreI came and grabbed takeout before heading to a concert at stern grove. They had a curry ready in about five minutes after I called in the order. The red curry with chicken was pretty good, lots of bamboo which I like, and white meat chicken, but I thought the curry flavor overall was a bit lacking. Not bad, just not super flavorful or interesting. I ordered it spicy, so I don’t know whether ordering it spicier or milder would have changed the overall flavorfulness, but I didn’t notice that spicy was especially spicy. The seating area isn’t huge, but it’s probably sufficient there’s plenty of parking around, in diagonal spots out front and limited to two hours on the surrounding residential streets. In short, it was fine and convenient and quick and friendly, and the ingredients seemed good, but I’d try another place in the area because it wasn’t anything to write home about (still worth yelping,...
Read moreThe waiter chased us. We experienced the most bizarre situation ever at this place. I went in to the restaurant with my partner for dinner. I already paid and as we’re heading out the door and they stopped my partner and forced her to add in an additional 15% when I already wrote in 20% in the initial payment. The waiter literally chased her, screaming and stopped her holding her arms across from leaving the restaurant even though we paid + tip. Like the waiter did not let her leave because she wanted more tip. If I remember correctly, tipping is suggested for good service and this was not good service. Do not go to a restaurant if you’re a couple or with children. You will be targeted for additional tip I guess. Ridiculous. Terrible behavior by the waiter, maybe she...
