This review is both for the amazing room experience AND the incredible customer service. First off the room was definitely challenging being the most difficult one they offered (Agatha Murder Mystery..). Thankfully we were able to finish it in around 50ish minutes (woo hoo!). Everything was laid out really well and it truly felt like an immersive experience as we were trying to escape. Don’t want to give anymore details to make sure I don’t ruin it for anyone lol. As for the customer service, at one point my group had an emergency call which almost resulted in us having to miss our reserved time. I explained the situation to one of the workers (Brandon?) who was super understanding and gave me more than enough time to figure things out. After several calls, it turned out that our group could make it and both Brandon and one of their managers (Evelyn?) were still super amazing and friendly. I love escape rooms but the workers’ friendly and positive attitudes made me love them even more. Thanks everyone and looking forward to our next escape room adventure!

This is my family's first escape room experience, and we all are really excited. We have 2 groups playing. The kids play the Scooby Doo room and the adults play the pirate's curse. Ashlee helped our group check in, she's very friendly and helpful. She walk us through the whole process and clearly explain on what we needed to know before our game starts. Alexa and Brandon helped us entertain the kids and guide them thru Scooby Doo. The pirate's curse game was fun to play. It was hard in the beginning but we managed to escape. The game really requires team work , critical thinking and problem solving. I love the story line of the game and layout of the room. My family really enjoyed it and will definitely come back for another game. Definitely good family bonding time!!

Honestly, a superb experience! This was the first time I had done an escape room and there was 3 of us (one who had done one before and another newbie.) Our game master Anthony was great! Booking the rooms are easy, and as we went on a weekday, our room was actually available earlier than the booked time (20 mins earlier.) My only minor complaint is that we were only given one flashlight (pirate room) when at certain points it would have been beneficial to at least have 2 (and if we were a larger group that would have been a necessity.) But that was a minor nitpick compared to the overall joyous experience we had. Can't wait to go back.

I recently visited Escapology at Stonestown with a group of friends to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday, and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. The experience was marred by several issues that made it one of the worst outings I've ever had.

I usually never write reviews but really feel disappointed about our experience here. From the outset, the gamemaster + front desk receptionist’s attitude was appalling – rude, disrespectful, and utterly unaccommodating. I would share the names of the employees we interacted with but I don’t remember them (and I’m not usually a vindictive person by nature).

The unfriendly vibes emanating from the staff only compounded our frustration as when we were asking for hints the advice was either generally unhelpful, gave us the whole answer, or told us to do something we already did all while riddled with passive aggressive comments (i.e. telling us to not press the button so much EVEN when we didn’t get an answer and rudely telling us to stop touching things that clearly didn’t have a “do-not-touch” sticker on). As former customer service workers ourselves, we know the importance of a welcoming atmosphere – something sorely lacking at Stonestown’s Escapology.

We did the batman themed room, and were so excited as that was all our favorite superhero! Midway through the game we innocently interacted with an object that lacked a "do-not-touch" sticker, only to have the entire game malfunction. To be more exact not spoiler there were wires coming out of a barrel that can easily be pulled out (no resistance OR “do-not-touch” stickers present). This oversight in the gameplay signaled a glaring lack of maintenance and attention to detail.

As the game awkwardly ended due to their equipment failure, we were unjustly and repeatedly blamed for the room breaking. The staff member escorted us out with accusatory remarks, leaving us feeling humiliated on what was supposed to be my friend's 21st birthday celebration. There was no apologetic reparations for our upsetting and lackluster experience which sucked because we paid a lot to have a fun time. It is a fair price as far as escape rooms go, but out of the 10+ I’ve played in the past, this has never happened to me before making it a huge bummer that we dropped a pretty penny on something so disappointing !!

Needless to say, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. My advice is to save your money, sanity, and use caution when it comes to this establishment.

EDIT/UPDATE: corresponding with the representative who manages their emails was a night and day experience for me. They were very receptive, understanding, and accommodating. I feel as though the situation has been remedied. Thank you for your prompt response and understanding with...

EDITED- My son and I came back 2 nights later and brought a family member. This time we completed the Batman and Murder on the Orient Express rooms. Ashley was our greeter and also our game master. She is a ROCKSTAR! She was such a fun guide and made our experience so memorable. Our family member was so impressed by the rooms that they will be bringing their friends back. The Batman room was fun! The set up makes you feel like you're in a Batman episode. My absolute favorite room is now the Murder on the Orient Express. Not only was it challenging, the details and set up of the room are so on point, we actual felt like we were on a train! 10/10 highly recommend! Ashley- thank you for being amazing and taking such great care of our group!

The decor is amazing here and the rooms are tricky but so fun! Upon arrival, Evelyn greeted us and led us to our game room. She explained all of the rules and answered all of our questions. We booked Mansion Murder. Shoutout to D for being an amazing Game master! After we completed our room, Evelyn was there to greet us and take our photo. We even came back later in the evening for another game because we had such a great time. This time, we booked Pirate's curse. Their customer service is the reason we came back, same day, and are now devoted customers. Thanks to Evelyn for taking such...

We had such a great time!!! Escapology in Stonestown San Francisco offers an engaging and immersive escape room experience that is perfect for groups looking for a fun and challenging activity. The facility is well-designed, with a variety of themed rooms that cater to different interests and difficulty levels. Each room is meticulously detailed, enhancing the overall ambiance and making players feel like they are truly part of the story.

The puzzles are cleverly crafted, requiring teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity to solve. They strike a good balance between being challenging yet solvable within the time limit, ensuring that players remain engaged and motivated throughout the experience. The staff at Escapology are friendly and professional, providing clear instructions and helpful hints when needed without giving away too much.

The location in Stonestown makes it easily accessible, with ample parking and nearby amenities. Overall, Escapology provides an excellent escape room experience that is both entertaining and mentally stimulating, making it a great choice for friends, family, or corporate team-building events. Highly recommended for anyone looking to test their problem-solving skills and have a...
