Authentic Chinese bakery with great prices and great food.

The woman behind the counter was friendly and the food was very well-priced compared to some other Chinese bakeries in the city. The place is clean, but definitely aged. You can tell it's been in business for a while now. There isn't a massive selection, but still plenty of choices. There are cakes in refrigerators and small trays of pastries on display, along with a menu for buns.

The custard tarts are made with puff pastry which makes them way better than the neater looking ones you'll find at other bakeries made with a rough-puff, sort of shortbread dough. Puff pastry takes a lot of effort to make, and you'll feel the difference when you bite into it. They're so flaky and not too sweet. I highly recommend buying the custard tarts. Heads up there’s no filling in the pineapple bun and it doesn’t really taste like pineapple. I saw another review which said this place had the best pineapple buns in the city- I don’t know about that but it was decently good, especially for the price. I ordered a two-tier red cake for my mom's 79th birthday and was extremely disappointed when I got a flesh salmon color cake instead. The woman who took my order said it wouldn't be a problem making a red cake and that they always make wedding cakes. I even texted her the photo on the left to confirm the red color I wanted. I was then disappointed when I asked for an open box to put the cake in because my trunk needed a little TLC, nope, not possible.... "because the cake will slide around in a box."
