Beautiful staircase with mosaics amidst the residential neighborhood. Not too crowded when I went in the afternoon and provides for a great photo op if you're in the area. This is also very close to another 16 Avenue Tiled steps which are also colorful mosaic tiled steps. I think the difference is that the hidden garden has a lot more greenery around and more shade and hence the name 'Hidden garden'. I recommend starting from Grand view park to soak up the 360 degree views of San Francisco city, followed by getting down from 16th avenue steps and finally reaching Hidden garden. This route also makes sense since you'll be going downhill, hence less tiring! Ofcourse feel free to reverse it if you're looking for a workout instead haaa! Hope you like...
Read moreI love walking up these steps! It's great exercise, great local art, and a great garden.
From there, you can turn right at the top of the staircase, walk through the nice neighborhood while getting good views of and between the houses, then arrive at another great tiled staircase.
Climb this next beautiful staircase, also with tiles and gardens, and at the top, turn right again, take a little staircase, turn right, and go to the wooden steps that leads to an amazing hilltop park, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views 360 degrees!
All real, all wonderful, all free, all for you.
You'll feel it in your legs, but you'll appreciate it...

I highly recommend visiting these hidden gems, between 1-5pm when the sun is facing & reflecting off the mirrored tiles, giving it a glistening effect. However there are days the fog (Carl) lingers closely, & can put a damper on this effect. Also, anytime of year you visit SF, ALWAYS...
