I was excited to try this place after looking for vegan options in the city but had a bad experience that won’t bring me back. When I got there I saw that it was a kiosk outside to order on and that there was a vegan menu button you could go to order the vegan options. I was deciding between getting one or two menu items for us and was choosing between the vegan chicken quesadilla or the vegan wet burrito. We ultimately decided on the wet burrito and to split it, so we chose that and then checkout.
When going through checkout it popped up with options to add to your order and the quesadilla was there so I caved and got the chicken quesadilla, thinking it was vegan because it popped up at the checkout after me ordering from the vegan menu. It was my mistake to not double check, yes, but I assumed because, as I said, I had just selected vegan menu beforehand.
Anyways, I didn’t discover the quesadilla was not vegan until after I had fully eaten the wet burrito and then taken 3-4 bites of the quesadilla…
That was my first time having meat in over 4 years… This was a traumatic thing for me when I realized, as you could imagine. I got up and asked the lady if I could swap the real one for a vegan one and explained to her how I clicked the vegan menu and instinctively thought the pop up at the end was also vegan. She then rung me up and said “$16”, and I explained I was wanting to swap not buy a new one. She said she would if it was her fault but it was mine. While technically true, I explained to her it was my first time eating meat in 4 years. There was still over 3 quartersof the quesadilla left and I just left it there because I couldn’t eat any more of it… I paid $14 for it after tax and I also gave them a tip…
It just felt rude in my opinion. I was really enjoying the food at first when I ate the wet burrito and even enjoyed the workers and the atmosphere.
The menu kiosk can be confusing if you’re trying to order specifically vegan. Maybe have a way for vegan items to pop on the end instead when people order from the vegan menu.
I wish they would have redone the order because I was planning on coming back to try more vegan options on their menu because I loved the vegan...
Read moreI recently visited this delightful little taco haven nestled in the heart of Castro, San Francisco, and I'm thrilled to share my experience. 'Taco Cosy' truly lives up to its name, providing a warm, intimate atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying mouth-watering tacos.
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by friendly and attentive staff members who are genuinely passionate about making your experience memorable. The décor is vibrant and colorful, showcasing traditional Mexican art and design, which adds to the overall charm and authenticity of the place.
The menu offers a diverse selection of unique and delicious taco options, including vegan and gluten-free choices. I ordered the Al Pastor Tacos and was amazed by the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The marinated pork was tender and juicy, the pineapple added a hint of sweetness, and the homemade salsa brought a pleasant kick to each bite. My friends tried the Baja Fish Tacos and the Mushroom Asada Tacos, and both dishes received rave reviews.
To top off the meal, we couldn't resist indulging in some freshly made churros with a velvety chocolate dipping sauce - the perfect ending to our taco feast.
The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes and the high-quality ingredients used. This spot may be small, but it packs a big punch in terms of flavor and ambiance.
If you find yourself in the Castro area and are craving some incredible tacos, don't hesitate to stop by Taco Cosy. It's a must-try for taco enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in San Francisco. You won't be...

Taco Boys completely blew me away. This was hands down one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had in my life—and that’s saying a lot! Everything is made fresh, so it took about 15 minutes, but it was so worth the wait.
As a vegan, I was thrilled to find a full vegan and vegetarian menu, and even better, my non-vegan friend was just as impressed. He actually said it was the best burrito he’s ever had! When both a vegan and a meat-eater leave raving about their meals, you know you’ve found a gem.
The vibe is super laid-back and casual—probably not the spot for a romantic dinner, but perfect for a chill hangout or quick bite with friends. Parking is street-only, so it can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day.
But honestly? If you love good food, especially if you’re plant-based, you have to give...
