I have never had bad food at La Med and we have been there probably 5 or 6 times, each time just as good as the last.
I took my partner for his birthday and tried the variety of small plates option they had at the time and every single one was delicious. The phylo dough pastries are crisp, the fillings not at all soggy, the pomegranate lamb meatballs are soft and springy and sweet, sour, and savory.
We have been with our family and tried so many great vegetarian options there as well (the dolmas, the potato salad, the falafel--it's all excellent).
This weekend La Med catered our wedding reception and our guests had the same things to say. I brought boxes to hand out for leftover food but in the end, there was next to nothing left to take home! (Except some dolmas, which naturally, we, the bride and groom, had to take home to eat for ourselves when we finally got chance to sit down. And I have to say they were just as soft and aromatic at the end of day as they were at the start).
I worked with the catering manager Jeff to submit my order, and he/they were so punctual and on top of everything! I sent them an email with what I wanted and within an hour or two, they sent me a quote and placed my order for me. They even provided cutlery and serving materials AND delivery for an extremely reasonable fee!
I am so grateful to La Med and if I ever need a caterer, I will absolutely order but when I don't, I am happy that we live close enough to stop by to just have a...
Read moreWe had a genuinely hard time when the bill came—not because of the cost, but because the service was excellent, while the food was hands down the worst Mediterranean cuisine I’ve ever had. I still left a good tip out of appreciation for the staff, but I’m writing this review to make sure others don’t get the wrong impression: the food was extremely disappointing. • The falafels were dry and lacked flavor. • The baba ghanoush and hummus tasted like they came from canned grocery store versions—not fresh or house-made. • We asked for olive oil, which had a very light color and almost no taste. • The dolmas were dry, missing the usual tenderness and balance. • The chicken pomegranate was okay, but the pomegranate flavor was barely noticeable. • The lamb lule had an odd, processed texture—more like store-bought meatballs than fresh ground lamb. • The rice was decent, but didn’t reflect Lebanese nor Armenian cuisines - I guess the owners were going with a more ambiguous "middle eastern" taste instead. • The sangria tasted more like Ocean Spray cranberry-pineapple juice with a strawberry slice thrown in—definitely not what I expect from a proper wine-based sangria with chopped fruits.
What’s most surprising is that the restaurant’s story and branding highlight Lebanese and Armenian roots, but that rich culinary heritage was nowhere to be found in the actual dishes. I left truly disappointed and confused by...
Read moreOrdered through Uber Eats. One plate was missing. Since Uber takes 24-48 hours to solve anything, I called the restaurant. The person on the phone was rude and unhelpful. He denied having made a mistake. Would not pass me with a manager would not go talk to the kitchen staff. Simply a horrible experience. I had a party of 8 for dinner at my house and we didn’t have enough to eat. Shame on you folks. I’ll never ever order or eat there ever again. Edit, I changed to 3 stars because the owner apologized, but your staff needs serious training in customer service, morover your menu online shows a huge plate as the family style dish for $34 dollars, there is no way on heaven you can fit two platters on one to go box, I wish I had taken a picture but I was too flustered. If it was my place I would have offered the client to choice to come gfet another plate or give him credit at the restaurant for a later time, there are many ways to...
