El Toro Taqueria — Restaurant in San Francisco

Wish I didn't waste my money and time here yesterday evening. We waited far too long in a line with only a few people that was barely moving. Service was truly atrocious. I would ask for one thing and get given something else entirely. They didn't listen to my order and barked requests, making it impossible to understand. I've never seen such bad service. Half of our friend group (3 people) sat down at a table for dine in, but a couple of us were told we weren't allowed to sit with them and must take the food to go (they were closing). This was after waiting in line and getting our food. Very odd to split up a group like that when we would've all finished eating at the same time. Plus they told us this by yelling "to go" at us with no clarification. Staff were rude and treated customers awfully. Food was average, soggy and left me with a tummy ache the next morning. Incredibly disappointed....

I'm leaving a 2 star rating because of the customer service. My husband and I were visiting SF from Chicago and wanted some cheap Mexican food (my husband is Mexican so he is a pretty good judge of Mexican food). When we arrived, it was 10 minutes to 3PM and we saw on this site that they have a happy hour from 3-5pm with $1.50 tacos, so to buy time we were asking the difference between the $1.50 tacos and the regular prices ones. The lady said that the happy hour tacos come with less meat and smaller tortillas. So I ordered 3 regular tacos and my husband ordered 3 happy hour tacos. There was absolutely NO difference and she still charged me $7 for three tacos that should have been $4.50. The food is ok...not anything fabulous, and I've had WAY better agua fresca. The staff did not go out of their way to help us or make us feel welcome. We won't...

We were really disappointed by our takeout order tonight. One person ordered a super veggie burrito, but the burrito labeled "S/V" was actually the chicken burrito, and the veggie was labeled "D/X". It was colder than room temperature and unpleasant to eat. The super chicken burrito was okay, as was the super chicken fajita burrito (although half of it was lukewarm). All 3 burritos had very little guacamole and their cheese was not melted. The chips were solid and the pico de gallo was okay. Service was good.

I'm surprised the burritos were cold, since we ate them only 10 minutes after the pickup time. I suspect the pickup time is too pessimistic, letting the burritos get cold, and the cooks aren't heating the burritos enough. Maybe their sister restaurant is better, but I'm definitely not going...
