The Rotunda — Restaurant in San Francisco

A light and airy circular open dining space. A beautiful dome overhead with lots of windows that wall a portion of the room. A wonderful ambiance. The food was only so so. The popovers did not look appealing. I didn't smell it coming. It looked dull and dry, but tasted "ok." My hambuger was plated plainly, but looked rather petite for the size of the plate. My dining partner commented that it was small, period! It tasted like a hamburger. Not too much more. All five of us really didn't comment on the food as we each ate. Very telling. The end if the meal coffee was good. The setting is an experience to be sure, but too bad the food...

Can you say disappointment? This location has never been a standout in terms of their cuisine. This last time was a total failure and I won’t be going back. So sad because the location is just gorgeous. Popovers were cold and not crispy, chicken salad left so much to be desired. How can you screw up on Chicken salad. The chicken salad itself was tasteless and it was served on a bed of mixed green that came right out of a bag it seems. Very nice waiter but...

Cold brew coffee ice cream was outstanding! Service was very good to excellent with smartly, dressed and extremely well mannered staff. Lobster bisque and soup were terrific. The chicken salad was fine, but not fabulous and my friend’s salmon was delicious. Beautiful historic setting. Fun to see families dressed up for lunch. The cocktails looked fabulous...
