BLUF: Not really worth it. Spend less off the rack and get basic alterations, or go to a real local clothier and get a truly custom-made suit. Pay more but get actual personalized attention and every detail you could want.
In the end, I wound up with a fairly good quality suit that was more or less what I was looking for. But the overall experience was not something I walked away from being entirely satisfied.
Every time I was there, they were really trying to make it a real bro-y experience: offer a beer, let you hang out as long as you want. Honestly that's me- that's the kind of thing I like. But it felt like the actual suit fittings, they were trying to get me in and out as quickly as possible.
First appointment, I had some ideas from looking at Suitsupply online, but I wanted to see fabrics & things first hand. The swatches in the store didn't match up to the options available online-- many I saw online they didn't have. Then after going through the swatches they did have, all but one of the 6-8 I picked were "not available." No explanation. I guess having only one choice made it easier.
Then we did measurements-- fairly professional overall and comparable to other places I have been. Then the salesperson starts going through options & putting them into the system to create my order. But he didn't ask me about most of them. At the end, I asked about a couple in particular that I wanted. He says, oh we can go back & change that. He just put in all the "standard" options for a lot of things. In the end I got what I wanted, but if I didn't know ahead of time, I wouldn't have even known I had a choice (e.g. lapel style & width, structure, canvassing-- really everything basic that makes up a suit). But he spent a lot of time gushing over what color lining & collar felt I could get, even though I told him I couldn't care less about the color of those (maybe those are the "fun" options that sell well. just speculating).
The suit comes in pretty quickly. I go for fitting, and they really doubled down on the in-and-out quickly strategy. I had an appointment, but ended up waiting a bit as the salesman was still helping someone else. Fair enough-- I'm sure different people take longer than others and you can't schedule that perfectly. But then he's STILL helping one or two other people at the same time as fitting me-- going back and forth, doing something with me while the others are just standing there, and vice-versa. Maybe someone he had to cover someone else's appointments last minute. I don't know.
But he tried to do the actual fitting in about 30 seconds total. Didn't ask me a thing. Pinned up the pant legs hem to what he decided was the right length. Same with the jacket sleeves. "Ok, that was easy. You're all good to go." Sorry, but no. I don't like the pants to hit there, the waist is too loose, and there's other things we can tweak, too. It's my suit. Again, I ended up getting everything I wanted, but if I didn't know, I would just be getting the salesman's personal tastes.
Lastly, their pant hems are weird. They sew a loop of grosgrain ribbon inside the bottom of the pants, to protect against wear. Good idea! But poorly done in my case and they WOULDN'T FIX IT. When I asked, the salesman told me it's standard and showed me other pants. But those were charcoal pants with a charcoal ribbon that was almost unnoticeable. My suit is TAN with BRIGHT WHITE grosgrain and very obvious where it was hanging below the hem. It also wasn't even, hanging out a lot more on one side. Worst, the hem pants were noticeably PUCKERED all around the hem. The grosgrain was just not sewn in right. I told the guy: it doesn't look right to me. Please fix it. He said sure, takes them back to the tailor and said quietly to her "just press them real well." BS! I said "thanks" and took them to a local tailor who told me, sure enough, it's not sewn in right, and she could remove it or replace it.
In the end, I think I got what I paid for. I think the suit is good quality. But the experience is not something I would...

This was our first time buying a suit from SuitSupply SF — and likely the last. We visited the store to get a wedding suit and ended up purchasing one the same day. The staff was friendly and helped us select a style, and we agreed to minor alterations on the pants.
What we didn’t know — and what was never clearly communicated — is that once a suit is altered, you cannot return or exchange it. This wasn’t explained at the time of purchase. It felt like the store simply assumed we already knew this policy, which is not reasonable for first-time customers spending over $1000 on a suit.
When I returned to pick up the altered suit, I expected to try it on in-store (as I had been told I would), but instead, they just handed it over. I was told I’d need a separate appointment to try it on — or to try it at home and come back if needed. That felt inconvenient, especially when you’re buying something so important.
When I tried it on at home, the fit didn’t feel right. I went back to the store and asked if I could exchange it for a different fit or style — and that’s when I was told I couldn’t return or exchange it because it had been altered. Instead, they offered more tailoring, which I accepted, trying to make it work.
After the second round of alterations, I came back again, still not feeling happy with the suit. This time, I was met with a dismissive attitude. The head tailor looked at the suit and said, “Why are you returning it? It looks fine,” in a condescending tone. The salesperson added that since the suit was altered, nothing could be done. He also mentioned the 30-day return window had passed — even though the clock apparently starts from the date of purchase, not when you actually receive or try on the finished suit. I had reached out well within a week of picking it up.
What frustrated me most was the disconnect between what’s said online and what happens in-store. The website states that if you’re unhappy with your purchase, you can return or exchange it — but that doesn’t apply if any alterations were made. And realistically, almost every suit purchase requires some alteration, so this return policy feels meaningless unless clearly communicated upfront.
Bottom line: This was a frustrating, disappointing experience. For a wedding suit, you expect to feel confident and taken care of — not stuck with a $1000+ suit you’re unhappy with. SuitSupply needs to be far more transparent about their policies and more thoughtful in how they treat customers when things...
Read moreThey were good the first time when you order few suits and shirts. But the service sucked after the 2nd time when coming back for the fitting of the custom suit. I wouldn't come back to this location.
I work in sales and I know costumer service is priority for referrals and repeat clients. but the workers here are unprofessional the second time for fitting. Kind of rude and felt rushed that I can't even think of how the tailoring should be since they made me felt rushed. While I was fitting my suits, Tony was the person that helped me the second time for the fitting because the first time they didn't do it right. and I tried asking him if the back looks a little loose and he said idk.... You need to talk to David who helped you the first time.. (the moment he made that comment, I knew he gives a bee butt about his clients) but it was Tony who actually worked with me on the first tailor of the pants and David did the ordering for me. In my mind I was thinking isn't it your job to get my tailoring right? You are the professional not me. I even saw Tony rolled his eyes when I asked him that question ( I would go back to David if he even had a open slot but he was booked up.) and then Tony said he haven't taken his lunch yet and he said we need to do this quick before his other appointment shows up. I was being nice that day otherwise I'll call him out for rolling his eyes and making that comment. While I was changing back into my clothes, Tony disappeared. I wanted to give him my pants to make it right on the tailor and how I wanted but he was gone. Lady in the front said he went on lunch.... REALLY?!?! I said here's my pants give it to Tony to tailor it. She said ok.
I like the suits but will definately take my business elsewhere. Would drive further north to a different location rather than coming back here. This location I've seen so far is giving me bad vibes when I come here for fitting. Almost made me feel like I've entered a store far worst than walmart services.
My advice for Tony, you can sell someone a suit the first time, but they ain't going to come back the second time if you treat them how you did to me. And that does not make you a good sales consultant. I hope you can improve from this review.
Also there is a Caucasian blonde lady that usually is in the front not sure if she works for management but she's always look like she's unhappy just working there. Would put her in the back to work so the vibe isn't bad for your store front. The way she talk is...
