=========Update Oct 2018======== Bun Rieu: Do not order this soup noodle It is the worst dish I have ordered at Mau. It's so salty that I couldn't finish the dish, and I hate wasting food.
Update Sept 2018======== So glad to know that Mau hasn’t change much since 2 years ago. Service still a bit slow but the food is worth it.
It’s normally hard to find a place that both my vegan friend and I like, but I think Mau did it.
My friend loves the vegetarian egg roll. Even though it’s an appetizer, the portion is big enough to be a meal.
My catfish noodle bowl is so good. 4 large pieces of perfectly seasoned and cooked catfishes on a bed of rice noodle and vegetables. The dish comes with a pungent shrimp paste sauce (I love it!), so don’t order it if you are not used to the smell.

I usually get the pho here. It's not the best but they do use high quality meat and it's a decent portion. Also try the clay pot rice.

Went in for lunch as I was in the area. Order BBQ pork with rice, and a bit of spicy chili on the side. The pork is sliced very thin, and nicely grilled. When dipped in the supplied sauce with a bit of tang, plus some of the picked veggies, it's a good combination of tastes.
The place is semi-self-serve. You order the combo you want, sit down, and when it's ready they'll bring it to your table.
Ordered BBQ pork over rice, plus a diet coke (can) plus tax and tip (18%) came out to be about $24, which is pretty reasonable for lunch.
They can also provide bahn mi (sandwich) and pho (noodle soup) if you prefer your food in...
Read moreThis was an amazing spot to grab an affordable, great lunch 3 years ago. But that was 3 years ago.
Ever since, it’s grown into a typical Mission money grab and nothing more. I came back in to grab something light and cheap, and ordered a bowl of pho to share. At $11.50, that’s on the high end of what a bowl should be anywhere. We got our check and noticed a $3 charge for a split plate which was never mentioned on the menu or by our frantic, absentee server. That’s over a quarter of the cost of our meal.
The food is still fine, and the portions are good, but the service is absolute garbage. This business is no longer interested in serving people, opting instead to focus on it’s own profits. Don’t support bad business,...
