Blossom Market Hall in San Gabriel is a unique space that is definitely worth a visit. The concept of creating a community gathering place that features different cuisines from the SGV is a fantastic idea, and the execution of the space is quite impressive. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable, with plenty of seating and a good amount of natural light. Plus, the art gallery on the second floor is a nice touch.
The selection of cuisines is impressive, with options ranging from Japanese and Korean to Mexican and Vietnamese. The variety of dishes is quite extensive, so you'll be sure to find something that you'll enjoy. The food is good, although not as spectacular as some of the other fantastic eateries in the area. However, it's a great spot for a casual meal or a drink with friends, and the communal vibe is really nice.
The bar area is well-stocked, and the drink selection is great. They also offer some pretty unique and creative cocktails, which is a nice touch. And if you're lucky, there may even be live music or other performances happening on the stage.
One of the best parts of Blossom Market Hall is the ample parking. It's always nice to not have to worry about finding a spot when you're out and about. Plus, the location is quite convenient, as it's right next to the San Gabriel mission.
Overall, Blossom Market Hall is a fantastic addition to the SGV community. It may not have the absolute best food in the area, but it more than makes up for it with its unique concept and communal atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you're looking for a place to grab a bite, have a drink, or just hang out...
Read moreIt was my first time in the area in a while and I am glad to try Blossom Food Hall. I tried out AK Fresh Roast and Baking with Ish.
AK Fresh Roast was a 7/10 in terms of quality and taste. I liked the presentation of the drinks and overall cleanliness of the store front. I got an egg custard vietnamese coffee which the coffee was more like a light roast then a medium or heavy roast. I could not tell if there was a layer of egg custard since it tasted more like regular coffee foam. The drink itself was $6.50 and came out to $7.17 total with tax. The cup size looked like a grande size at Starbucks.
Baking by Ish blew my mind with how good and new the pastries were. Maybe I’m biased as a Filipino American but I would rate Ish’s baked good as 10/10. You really get a generous serving in each slice and the price is really fair. Like everything nowadays, $6 and up seems to be the norm in pricing. I got the ensaymada for $10 and the blueberry pie for $10. Total price with tax came out to $22.05. Yes $10 per baked good is more than the $6.50 drink from AK Fresh Roast but you get more food overall from Baking by Ish. The cost of labor and attention needed to present the baked goods nicely is loads better than a simple coffee drink that takes less than five minutes to make.
Overall, if I had to choose between Baking by Ish and AK Fresh Roast, Baking by Ish outperforms in...
Read moreCame out here to support my local community. Grew up in SG and the past couple days I've been going here to try new foods. At first I didn't think of writing any reviews but one vendor (Banh Mi Bar) really compelled me to start writing reviews. I was so heated but I've cooled down now. The inside of this Market is nice and clean. Having been to Grand Central Market multiple times in LA I can see the type of vibe and energy the owners want this place to have. Reading into the history of this Market, I found that Nellie and Chris Tran who are the owners, "financing the entire project on their own and haven’t run a business before except for some residential rental properties" from the latimes. I really respect that they put all their money into one business. Whenever or not it works out. That's the kind of spirit and entrepreneurship we need.
They aim to make the historic district (San Gabriel Mission) into something like what Main Street or Old town Pasadena is like. If they do succeed property values will be going up even more here which is great lmao. In the Market Hall we can see what LA truly means to many people. Where so many cultures and races come together to create great food and an atmosphere like no other.
That's all from me and this reviewing thing...
