My advice, steer clear of this place. Especially when they are busy. I waited an hour and a half and barely got chips and a tiny cup of salsa it was over $47.00 for two weak, Paloma cocktails and a Pepsi. The owner who was also waiting tables was so rude and made it seem as though it were my fault that we received terrible service. I also witnessed her arguing with another customer who complained about not getting her order correctly, and the length of time it took to receive her drinks, chips and salsa. There were waiters wandering around asking each table, “did you order enchiladas” over and over because they didn’t know where the food was supposed to go. I wish I could rate the food, but I waited an hour and a half and my food never came. When I could no longer wait, I had an engagement to attend, they brought out part of my order while I was paying for the overpriced drinks. When I explained I had to leave the owner angrily said, “YOURE PAYING FOR THIS FOOD!” To which I replied, “NO I AM NOT PAYING FOR FOOD I DIDNT GET TO EAT!” I told her in the beginning that I had to leave by 7:30 and she assured me we’d be taken care of. We only ordered one plate and a quesadilla I mean come on , I could whip that up in 10 minutes so my advice to you…don’t bother. There are plenty of wonderful Mexican restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley. I am so disappointed, never again. I understand being busy but be honest if you can’t handle the load and restaurant rules 101, never, NEVER get rude and argue with your customers. The only reason the atmosphere got two stars is because it’s in a really lovely area and the restaurant...
Read moreFROZEN CHEESE inside the chile relleno! We went there on a Saturday for dinner at 6:00pm, put our name down for a table with the hostess who, was also the waitress, who was also the cashier. She asked if we wanted to order a drink while we waited outside for a table, we ordered two margaritas that were never brought to us. Once we were finally seated, it took 25 minutes for someone to come take our order. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer and were told there wasn’t any more. Looking around, you could tell that people were agitated due to the long wait time to get their food, so we placed our order after we were told they were out of guacamole. My friend ordered a Chile relleno combo and the cheese in the middle was frozen. I can only assume these get made the day before and get thrown in a microwave then plated, but the one they served, my friend was not microwaved long enough, and the cheese inside was frozen. When we were finally able to wave someone down to let them know they offered to bring another one but at this point the experience had already been horrible enough, and we opted to pay and leave to which they only offered to deduct three dollars from the total bill. They definitely did not have enough staff in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor. First time there and will not...
Read moreChips and salsa - fine, as expected.
Fries - surprisingly excellent, the perfect snack while sipping our cocktails.
Cocktails - my blackberry mojito went down super smooth though the mint garnish looked less than clean; my husband seemed to enjoy his cadillac margarita.
Quesabirria - delicious! Loved every buttery, cheesy, juicy bite.
Veggie fajitas - nice char, good flavor, super stingy on the tortillas (really, two tortillas isn't a lot for a person).
Service - seemed a little joyless, though I suspect perhaps it was due to us coming in an hour before closing on a Friday night with only a couple other occupied tables. I could tell maybe the staff didn't really want us there and instead wanted to go home early. And they forgot our water until we asked for it.
Atmosphere - maybe it's because we're not huge sports bar people, but the place felt more like a room with TVs and tables that also just happened to be where food was served, and not like an actual restaurant that was intentionally set up to entice people to sit and enjoy the meal and the experience of dining out with their party (without staring at a television).
We'll try again on a busier night when perhaps everyone is more present and less focused on watching the game or getting...
