We were at the San Gabriel fair this weekend and discovered a bakery called Patisserie Too that is just across the street from Blossom Market Hall on Mission. This is a fantastic new Hong Kong-style bakery that’s now a go-to spot for me! Their pastry lineup is a sweet-tooth’s Heaven, with favorites like the croissant egg tarts that rival the iconic ones from Bakery House in Hong Kong and the creamy Portuguese egg tarts inspired by Macau.
They are very creative which is displayed with the adorable character cakes—I’m in love with the King Panda cheesecake, shaped like a super cute panda. They also have a charming teddy bear mousse cake that’s almost too cute to cut into. The tiramisu cake, presented in a cute cube, is another great treat, balancing flavor and style.
Their drinks are just as impressive, with the classic HK milk tea being a perfect match for the pastries.
The experience is elevated by their fabulous outdoor patio, adorned with cool decorations that create a cozy vibe. The service was outstanding, with friendly staff who made the visit even better. Patisserie Too is a must-try for anyone craving authentic HK-style baked goods with a...
Read moreHonest opinion, the pastries are average. They're not too sweet, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your tastes. Do not get the Chestnut Dome, it is grainy and barely tastes of Chestnut. Their cakes also have a hard cookie base to them, which I don't necessarily mind, but it seems off. The chocolate petals can be a bit too thick as well. They look pretty and cute, but aside from presentation, you can get better else where. I did have some issues with a certain employee. I don't know who it was, but they had strong odor to them, which made the experience while at the patisserie much less enjoyable. It also messed with my senses a bit, so perhaps my enjoyment of the pastries was lessened by that. I do hope that hygiene is indeed practiced well and that employee just had the unfortunate luck to have a strong musk to them, and not because they don't bathe. They also weren't the most helpful nor friendly. Like I said, I don't know who, but I'm sure others will know. Overall, would not really recommend, pastries are average at best, and I do hope that one employee tries a bit harder to fix...
Read morePatisserie Too is a new patisserie shop in San Gabriel that has a variety of pastries. The shop was formerly associated with Tony Wong, but it changed its name after they split up. It has a spacious and covered outdoor seating area, which is rare in this area and ideal for bringing your furry friends.
The pastries look appealing and colorful, but they are not very flavorful or unique. I tried the mystery cake box, which gives you 4 random cakes and 2 macarons for $29.99. It was a fun way to sample their products, but none of them stood out to me. The cakes were moist and sweet, but bland. The macarons were crunchy and chewy, but forgettable.
The only thing I really liked was the green tea latte, which was creamy and refreshing. The staff was friendly and helpful, but that was not enough to make up for the average desserts. It has potential, but it needs to work on its flavors and originality. It’s a decent place to have a dessert and relax, but not a place I would go out of my...
