I’d normally have given chanos a 5 star my family has been going here for years and we’ve always enjoyed the quality of food and friendly service but recently this all changed and for such small reason. We ordered 5 tacos and 1 wet burrito and a coke upon grabbing the to go order I asked if sauce was in the bag since my hands were full I was kindly informed “ yes it is and to have a great night” when I arrived home I realized there was no hot sauce in the bag I was somewhat irritated but figured I’d just drive back it’s only 15 min away so I drive back and the lady hands me two tiny containers of sauce I explained they had forgot to give me sauce so she gives me two more and says it’s two sauces per two tacos I explain I have 5 and a wet burrito she said no I could not have anymore I explained I’d already driven home and back so the least you could do is give us 5 sauces or maybe refill my drink so I can have it with my meal they said no and were final about it. I called the manager and she also would not budget or even apologize she literally offered to give me two extra sauces next time I ordered so now my meal was cold and didn’t have enough sauce to even give each person one with their tacos such a shame I will never go back for the lack of customer service when even though it was such a small item it could easily been fixed and no issue but to be so rude and not able to give up one more sauce is just unbelievable and no longer wish to support a company with that...
Read moreFirst time here, came for breakfast. I'd go back, but hardly. Walked in, was empty, took 2 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and say good morning or how I can be helped. Prices are doable. Ordered the chilaquiles with egg. Came fast enough, but upon eating, I noticed why. First, I was missing the salad that is shown in online pictures. Hardly given any chips to dip w my beans. Eggs were the best thing on the plate and their salsas are good too. Chilaquiles themselves were a big air ball(miss). Tortillas were from a bag and sauce was from a can. Barely warm and very noticeable they were only tossed together for about 2 minutes before being served as sauce wasnt embedded into the tortilla CHIPS, instead sliding off them as I ate. Had to scoop them with my plastic fork because too hard for fork to go through them (another sign weren't authentic or cooked long enough). Atmosphere is nice, though. Cashier was friendly once acknowledged. I'd say the food here is on par with Taco Bell but with more...
Read moreStopped by Chanos this afternoon after leaving our Grandsons house in Tempe City around 3 pm. My lady had me order her a carne asada sope, and our Son a Carne asada Burrito. Ler me tell you something, I forgot how good the food was? We hadn't had Chanos in about 4 years, although, a little over priced, well worth it. They even sell Mexican themed t-shirts and a Hand bag of Los Dias de Los Muerto made to resemble a Mexican or Spanish face. Y- shirts are $15 or 2 for $25. The hand bag was 25. Bought my lady the Had Bag. Pic to follow. So after so many years of not being here to eat, why!!?? The every day rat race, or shall I say.... The Pandemic. Being safe, washing our hands frequently, and staying 6 feet apart. Orale, so for those of you that haven't been back to Chanos.... You are missing out on some righteous Mexican food. Signing off for now from Alhambra Town SGV...
