One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in SGV. Although the inside decoration is quite dated, the foods here are excellent and authentic. Service is very good too.

On Las Tunas and San Gabriel’s Blvd, Saigon Eden is conveniently located across from one of the established shopping and eating centers in San Gabriel. I have been coming here for years but haven’t had a chance to write a review.

With an extensive menu, you can practically find any types of your favorite Vietnamese food here. I come mainly for their pho ( beef broth noodle) and Banh Cuan( Vietnamese rice roll with pork).

The pho here is excellent filled with extremely tasty beef broth. The broth produces a beefy - hours-long bone boiling - taste caressed by the seductive scent of star anise , which is the beauty of this dish. The levels of taste- fresh herbs, satisfying beef, hot broth, spicy shots of Jalapeno and siracha, sweet-salty-smokey hoisin, and al dente noodles made their pho a perfectly done dish.

I tried their Pho Kobe today with the same broth. The Kobe beef was not as tender as I had expected. The noodle and the broth were still excellent.

I didn’t ordered their Banh Cuon today as I wanted to try their Banh Xeo ( sizzling pancake). Over all, this dish was not too bad. The skin on the Banh Xeo was a bit thick but the portion was very big. I had to pack half of it to go.

This is definitely a place to get your favorite Vietnamese food. Saigon Eden...

I hadn’t been to this restaurant in years—and now I remember why.

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We ordered pho and another soup dish, and both were completely inedible. The flavors were so off, I genuinely thought we were served the wrong dishes. I politely asked the owner about it, and instead of helping, she spoke down to us and accused us of not knowing anything about Vietnamese food.

We had only taken one bite of each dish and explained that we weren’t trying to get anything for free—we just wanted the correct food and something edible. She refused to acknowledge the issue or offer any sort of solution.

To make things worse, the owner continued to harass us throughout the meal, right up until we paid and left. I don’t know if there’s been a change in ownership, but the service was shockingly rude, and the food was by far the worst we’ve ever had.

We came in hoping for a decent lunch and left with one of the most disappointing restaurant...

On a gloomy, cold day, you cannot go wrong with a bowl of comforting pho. Whether its beef pho or chicken pho, you cannot dislike this place because their broth is so tasty!

My most favorite pho would be the pho ga special. Always get the one with everything because it will include the quail eggs! Yum. If you are not a bigger eater, I would suggest you to let them know to get a regular size because their large one is pretty big. Broth tastes good, noodle does not taste soggy like other places when its soaked in soup, which amazed me. Their service is quick when its not too crowded, but to expect to wait at least 15 min if there's a big crowd of people during lunch. Can't rush them cooking, else you don't want to end up with raw food right?

There's no parking lot, so either park on the streets or in front. Because It's San Gabriel... 2 hours parking only from a certain time.

And if you ask if ill ever come back? Heck yes ill be back!

**Takes cash...

Apparently I ordered the wrong thing: Phở Gà Đặc Biệt. But I didn't get what was so Đặc Biệt/special about it, except for the 2 quail eggs. The size of the bowl was hefty though, normally I only grade my noodles on the noodle:meat ratio, but his place didn't have enough broth. Lack of chicken variety (what about the gizzards?) Just breast meat, no thighs or wings. Worst of all, the noodles were clumped together, even after you try to move things around in broth, they still felt clumpy. Tried one of their sodas too, and it was somehow flat. How does that happen? Service... Nevermind they thought I was going to share a single bowl and the same drink with someone else, we cleared that up right away. The lady at the front was super cold. Like just took my money and that was it. Very transactional. Come on lady, you ain't the only phở provider in town.

I ordered for grilled pork with baked egg with eggroll, when my order came there was no eggroll, i have to tell them and they gave it to me immediately. The grilled pork is rubbery and hard to chew., I called their attention to tell them that this taste like beef and its so rubbery, the manager - she is so sweet!- said that its pork I am not convinced. My hubby ordered for crspy egg noodle with seafood- they only served the seafood without the crispy noodle. We have to call their attention again. We have to insist that we ordered the above. After 5 minutes, they served the crispy eggnoodle with seafood but its too dry, see picture-they put very minimal sauce. We have to tell them again and the manager pour the sauce on the eggnoodle. She said their system is down so the orders are not done accordingly. I am not coming back here again.
