Definitely recommend checking out this place! We made the trek out to SGV from Orange County, and everything was so good.
There's a private parking lot behind the restaurant, so you don't have to worry too much. It is a small parking lot though.
Service was excellent! The cashier took his time answering our questions and gave his recommendations. You can also order through the iPad as well.
With the iPad, you select the option of whether to dine in or to do take out. We opted for dine in. We asked the cashier what chicken sandwich was popular, and he recommended the spicy chicken sandwich. After going through the menu, we decided to order popcorn chicken, New Orleans chicken wings, and the cuttlefish ink whole fried chicken. We also got their mango green tea as our drink.
After placing our order, I'd say we probably only waited 15 minutes for our food.
Popcorn chicken: 4/5 - it's pretty hard to mess up popcorn chicken. They gave us seasoning, but I wish they had a sweet and sour sauce.
New Orleans chicken wing: 5/5 - the flavour was a nice sweet zingy flavour
Cuttlefish ink whole fried chicken: 4.5/5 - slightly salty flavour to it, but I couldn't put it down
Spicy chicken sandwich: 5/5 - my favorite! The chicken was sooo juicy. It was also a lot bigger than expected. My sister loved it as well.
Mango green tea: 4/5 - exactly how a mango green tea should taste like. Refreshing, light, and not too sweet (perfect for me because I'm trying to cut back on sweets lol)
Overall, service + food was 5/5 ☺️. I definitely would come back whenever I'm in the area. It also has late night hours so it's nice knowing I have that option for a late...
Read moreMy sis and I decided to go to Hey Chicken! to try them out cuz they’re a new spot in town. Lucky for us, during the month of February, they were having a BOGO promo on their whole chickens, so we each were able to get our very own chickens to lick, slobber over, and suck clean for the price of one. We also bought a bunch of fried sides (fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and popcorn chicken) and sauces to complement our dead lil’ chickies!
We got the rattan spice flavored chicken per the server’s recommendation. There was a bit of a wait because I think the widdle baby chickens are boiled to death and fried to order. And each chicken carcass also came in its own cute little box with the adorable mascot telling us to “EAT ME!” in mandarin (I think… I do reading the Chinese very not good).
The rattan spiced chicken had a really peppery spice/taste to it, and ripping and tearing apart it’s itty bitty body and devouring every last shred of it’s Cornish flesh was actually quite filling. From the pictures, I honestly thought the chicken was going to be small, but I think that sharing it would have been fine too, you might just need some extra fried sides. So I will definitely be coming back to eat some more delicious chicken, and I say Hey! Hey, it’s a wonderful kind of day, to try some...
Read moreit was my first time here! i think this is a new restaurant. the interior is nice, you can order with the machine or in person there. it’s clean and neat.
the staff/cashier was really friendly. she recommend some items to us and let us take our time since it was our first time here.
items we ordered: 😋 Hey Golden Fried Chicken - this is literally a whole fried chicken. it’s not too salty or greasy, just perfect temperature and fried to its golden perfection. really crispy and juicy!!!
Hey Double New Orleans Chicken Sandwich - MY FAVORITE! this was a really big sandwich (probably shareable) but what i really like was that it’s not a fried chicken piece, it’s marinated with their homemade sauce, really delicious!
Duck Wing (new item!) - tried it out since the staff recommended. it’s marinated nicely and grilled with a savory rub to it. i is similar to skewers (they also gave cumin and spice powder to dip)
Golden Chicken (new item!) - this piece was delicious in terms of the batter seasoning they used!
they also offered boba fruit drinks and smoothies. i would be coming back. the ambiance and service definitely made the food more...
