A.M. Craft — Restaurant in San Jose

We went here on a Wednesday mid morning. It is right next to SJSU so its really great for students on breaks or on the way to class. The pictures on yelp are amazing and made me really excited to go and have a new experience. Street parking was super easy with 2 hours free and then there was metered parking across the way. There is 30 minute parking right in front, great if you are ordering to go. They have an outdoor seating area but since it was raining we opted to sit inside. The staff was nice, we ordered after looking at the menu and they brought our coffee to the table. What would have been nice was to have some recommendations as it was our first time there. We ended up ordering the latte and the red eye flight. My latte was great but it wasnt hot enough for me. They did have pastries, muffins and such, i dont think they make them there but they look yummy. We didnt order any food this time, just coffee. There were 3 or 4 paintings on the walls but nothing much else. Its a very nice space and hope they add more too it in the way of ambiance. We were there for about 1.5 hours just chatting and relaxing. During that time we saw a few other customers come in and you can tell it is a very neighborhood type of place. Wanted to try this place for a hot minute, so I was excited to finally drop by!

Drinks:

Espresso - Barback mentioned after I asked that they were using an Ethiopia from Huckleberry Roasters. Was balanced, pleasant fruitiness, floral, berry, slightly sweet, light body. Overall flavor was delicate, it’s good as a balance for milk drinks so it’s not too fruity or acidic, so i can appreciate that!

Toasted Marshmallow Latte - I’m a sucker for marshmallow flavor so I was intrigued, but this one surprised me! It’s a combo of honey, vanilla, and cocoa, so i wasn’t expecting too much marshmallow flavor, but it was there! It’s a delicate marshmallow flavor with honey sweetness, perfect sweetness level, love it!

Vibes - Quaint space, calm vibes. Interior is cute. Customer service wasn’t bad, cashier was really nice. The barback was really chatty and nice with regulars in front of me and behind and that was sweet, but he didn’t seem too interested in that same energy with me. But I can appreciate maintaining the relationship with current clients and catching up so i’ll ignore that for now.

Overall, I really like their attention to detail and use of multi roasters, so i’d love to try...

Little coffee shop that looks like it was created by some friends, nestled downtown right by the student community of SJSU. It could be easy to miss since there's no sign yet. There was a poster with an arrow that was blocked by parked cars from the street, but we just parked at the laundromat and rounded the corner.

The shop isn't very big, but there's a bar area and small tables near the front. Lots of natural light for you to study by. The prices are good and the service was quick.

The toasted marshmallow latte had that hint of marshmallow at the top, but wasn't it very sweet on the bottom. I was expecting more of a torched marshmallow, fluff thing on top. It was still a good latte, just not what I expected. The temperature at which it was served was perfect.

Overall I recommend going here! I'd like to come back and try...
