Tasted great to me! So much that I felt like leaving this review so I can check my Google reviews and find where it is again when I'm back in the area.
I ordered the 2 Mulitas, meat choices tripas & campechanos (Asada y Chorizo). The campechanos was reccomended as I asked what was her favorite meat they had. I'd never tried this steak chorizo before so I gave it a try. I enjoyed both very much!
The multas has this dark sort of roasted pepper inside, it almost reminded me of Thai chili they have sitting on the side of the table at the restaurants... not quite, but something similar. I did enjoy it. & I love that it was loaded with cheese as well.
Both mulitas were $16, & I did get the $7 horchata.. horchata maybe a bit overpriced but, it is not the grainy kind that they sell the powder for in the stores, I believe it is homemade, it was good horchata... but still I wish maybe $5.
They do accept debit/credit cards so that helped me. Get the horchata.
Overall I was super full & satisfied, but yeah, horchata and 2 mulitas cost around $26.72 including tax. I can see it being a bit expensive for some. I...
Read moreBombero 408 is one of those spots where you can taste the freshness in every bite. Everything is prepared in-house and right in front of you from the handmade tortillas to the seasoned meats on the trompo. It feels like true Mexican street-style food brought to life.
Their menu is loaded with favorites: crispy costras, juicy tacos de trompo, cheesy quesabirrias, and burritos that are stuffed with flavor. The bowls are perfect when you want a mix of everything, and the viral chicharrón with guacamole is one of those dishes you can’t miss crunchy, savory, and addicting. To finish, they even offer tacos dulces, which are such a fun and unexpected sweet bite.
Every dish is made with care and comes out tasting authentic and fresh. It’s the kind of place you go with friends when you want to enjoy good food that hits every craving. With multiple locations, it’s become a go-to for anyone looking for real Mexican flavors that don’t disappoint....
Read moreThis review is for the bombero on Monterey road.
Not sure if the bombero on Monterey road is the same one on Moorpark. But I came here for $2 tacos Tuesday at both locations. First time being at Moorpark and I could’ve sworn their carne asada tasted like TJ carne. However the $2 tacos Tuesday wasn’t honored. It was the regular ~$4/taco.
Recently went to the new location on Monterey Road for $2 tacos Tuesday again and I think a different type of carne asada was served. It didn’t taste like what I remembered from Moorpark. Not sure if it’s different locations or different meat is used for $2 taco Tuesday versus on a regular day.
Overall, service was great. A bit of a wait at both locations. Good amount of parking at Moorpark. Limited parking at Monterey Road. Looks like the Monterey Rd location has dine-in restaurant inside an autopshop? Tacos were good but nothing TJ special as...
