We were visiting San Jose and came to have some warm lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The place was a pleasant surprise with affordable prices and a selection of fresh, warm, and healthy food cooked right at the place. For example, they had not fried/fat rice and dumplings (momos) options. The place was not crowded, but customers were coming and going.
We ended up ordering vegetarian rice and momos, paid around 19 usd for everything. The place has tables next to it, we were eating there, but people were mostly taking away.
Overall, the food was tasty, sufficient portions, the service - fast and polite. I have only one suggestion to the food: I would love to have sour cream to my dumplings :)
One negative observation is the amount of plastic and waste that the order generated: we got all the food wrapped in foil and placed in paper containers, we got plastic forks and spoons, we got several sauces in plastic cups, everything was wrapped in a plastic bag. I wish there was an alternative to all this plastic, which we did not really need because we were eating right at the place.
Overall I can recommend this place, it is a very good budget alternative to the expensive restaurants on the...
Read moreVeggie momos traditionally are not supposed to have Paneer. Paneer or MSG wasn't mentioned in the online menu so I was very surprised after picking up my order and eating the momos. Moreover, they put MSG in their momos and food. Glad they are transparent about it but these are all tactics to make bland food have more flavor. There are tons of restaurants out there who make flavorful momos without Paneer or MSG. This place is just using a shortcut. Thank you for being transparent about the MSg but please stop using MSG in your food and consider making the veggie momo without Paneer or offer one that does not have Paneer. Also, please mention your ingredients in the online menu so that people are not surprised when they show up at the food truck or when the food...
Read moreI am a huge momo fanatic. Love 'em and can eat them everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tried chicken momo from this place today for the first time and was very disappointed. First of all, the portion of chicken in the chicken momo was almost nonexistent-- probably 10% chicken and 90% veggies. Second of all, they barely put any momo masala, making the momo taste like Chinese dumpling. It was pretty bad. Lastly, the amount of sauce they provided was a joke. They cut corners everywhere possible-- never trying them again.
Also bought chilly chicken and that was even more disappointing. Looked like mashed eggplant. Refer to the...
