We got to this Foster's Freeze around 9:30pm on 09/07/24, Saturday. We were behind 5 people who were ordering smoothies, desserts, and twisters. When it was our turn, we ordered Fish and chips and Fish Sandwich. Not the combo. Then we waited for it for 25minutes. Then around 10:05pm...a Caucasian lady came to order Mozarella Cheese Fries and 2 Ice Creams on cones. There were 3 hispanic ladies working in front doing the smoothies, desserts, and drinks , (one of them took our order, the cashier), and 1 Hispanic man cooking I the back. After they gave the desserts, ice cream, and smoothies/twisters to the 5 people ahead of us at 10:10pm, the Hispanic cooking called out "Mozarella Cheese Fries" out which is the lady who came after us and she got her order right away at 10:15pm and they even gave her 2 ice cream cones. Me and my family were confused so I went to ask the cashier what happened to our order since we have been waiting for more than 30 minutes and the lady who came later than us got her order right away around 10:15pm. We have been waiting since 9:40pm . Turns out, the Hispanic man cooking in the back ignored our order because the cashier went to ask him but he walked away from her and did not answer her. The hispanic man (the cook) went outside to take out the trash and replaced the trash bags while staring at me, and my family. The cashier said sorry but we are upset for waiting for too long. Cashier said she will get our order done but wait for another 10 minutes. We have to use the bathroom and this place has no bathroom. So imagine how we feel. I do not recommend this Foster's Freeze. We got our order without giving our receipt around 10:30pm. GO TO OTHER FOSTER'S FREEEZE BUT HERE. THE WORKERS AT NIGHT HERE SUCKS. I like Foster's Freeze but not this one on 4th Street and Taylor in Downtown San Jose... especially at night on Saturday Nights. I am...
Read moreWe were at Jack's Bar on a Saturday night and noticed online that the Foster's Freeze across the street closes at 11pm. It was 10:50pm at the time and one person in the group desired a burger. I craved a milkshake.
So we left and crossed the street at 10:56pm. As we walked across the street, they turned off the open sign. I walked up to the window and asked what time they closed and if we could still order. Knowing it wasn't 11pm yet.
The lady said "Ice cream only. NO FOOD!" I asked so a milkshake was okay? She said "I guess". We left! I'm so sick of these establishments charging outrageous prices and providing such poor service. I know it's hard to find good help these days.
To the lady working there on Saturday night September 23rd, take some pride yourself and your work. It doesn't matter where you work, you can still have some pride and integrity and provide great service. I worked in food service for over 20 years. I know it's tough. But you can do better than this.
You probably wanted to go home, but cooking one more order isn't going to get you home that much later. It's like running a red light. Okay, you saved 30 seconds but probably stopped at the next light.
Last time I was here, I stood at the order window and the same lady would not help me. She would not even acknowledge me. So after 8 minutes of being ignored, I went across the street to Wienerschnitzel. They gave me fast, friendly service. Maybe the staff at Foster's Freeze just don't like me!
I'll never go back. Why would I? They don't want my money. They have no interest...
Read moreUsed to go to this foster freeze back in the days. Still looks the same and taste the same. Even the guy that works here is the same. The worker really loves to interact with their customers. There also appears to be locals who goes here all the time. Menu is pretty big.
Food: The old fashion is always my go to choice. The Fries that comes with the meal is pretty good. They tend to give you a lot of fries. Their onion rings are always good as well.
Service: They are quick to make your order. Food is always top notch here and beats other big chain restaurants. Don't always see the helper to the cook wear gloves. The cook always wear it, though he should wear a hair net. Never had hair in my food though.
Parking: Parking can be limited, but no one really stays at the location long. Parking is free as well. I find that most people order to go though there are two tables to eat at.
Seating: The workers don't maintain the tables throughout the day. It's more of the community self regulating. Overall, it's usually clean.
Amenities: No bathroom. Condiments...
