Hobee's Restaurant and Beer Garden — Restaurant in San Jose

I am so disappointed in the downtown San Jose location, I only have it 3 stars because I can't give a 2 1/2 and the food is still good. We sat for over 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order (I don't know why we waited,  we should have got up and left).  My brother had to tell someone we were ready to order and then we still had to wait. Maybe our server was on break,  okay then seat us in an active section. We watched people who arrived after us, seated in other sections, get served before us. The two tables to either side of our table were also neglected; at one point a person next to us was tired of waiting and got up to get the items the table had asked for on her own. Keep in mind they asked for these things before we sat down because no one came to our tables for over 20 minutes. There were more people working the floor than there were parties seated in the dining area.  I think outside was neglected as well because people kept coming in to check on the things they had requested and ask for their checks. I miss the old locations and service. My family and I have been coming to Hobees for years. This new location does not have the same feel as the original locations and its a bit disappointing. If you are wanting that true Hobees experience, take the extra time to go to the locations in Sunnyvale or Palo Alto because the coffee cake is...

This restaurant is housed in a lovely building with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent—fresh, healthy, and full of flavor. They offer a good variety of options to suit different tastes and dietary needs, which I really appreciated.

The standout item for me was their signature coffee cake—it was absolutely outstanding and worth the visit on its own. Customer service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel personal and enjoyable.

The only downside is the location. Parking can be a bit tricky, and just a block down, there's a park where groups of homeless individuals tend to gather, which may be a concern for some visitors.

I had high hopes for this location. Especially since it’s close to my neighborhood and in walking distance. The first couple times were excellent. Exceeded my expectations and every visit since has just gone downhill. The server has no personality whatsoever. She has no business working at a restaurant. She takes your order. Drop your food off and never returns. Today was a complete disaster and unfortunately, I will never be back again to this location. Once again the server with no personality waited on me. I asked my breakfast to be cooked to certain way she dropped it off and never came back. The manager is the one that brought me my check.
