Very unprofessional demeanor from the director, Mary Grace
I want to share my experience with the school. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it based on how things went went I went into the San Jose location for an appointment to see the process of enrolling in the school.
I had an appointment scheduled with Mary Grace, the San Jose director. On the day, I got stuck in traffic and tried reaching out multiple times to ask for directions, especially since a nearby landmark would have made it easier to find the place. No one answered the main phone line, which was frustrating. They send a lot of confirmation emails and texts, but some clearer directions or landmarks would help a lot. You don't need to text bomb someone for an appointment reminder.
When I finally arrived, Mary Grace was in the lobby but didnāt introduce herself. Angelina the assistant at the front desk had me fill out a form on a tablet. And when I was done with the form on tablet Mary Grace finally introduced herself. Shortly after I asked Mary Grace and Angelina where the restroom was, Mary Grace stayed silent and turned away from me so her back was facing my face and she ignored me she was very bothered I asked where the restroom was at I found her body language and demeanor unprofessional. Angelina, the assistant, kindly told me where it was since Mary Grace seemed unwilling to answer my question. I stepped away briefly to use the restroom and when I came back, Mary Grace had left.
I was told by Angelina that Mary Grace had an emergency, and that she has emergencies from time to time. Angelina looked insincere and her smiled looked insincere as well.
After I left, Mary Grace called me a few times and sent texts, claiming we were playing phone tag and that she had an emergency. She continued calling, emailing and texting even days after my appointment all which I found annoying and excessive.
I'm not interested in a beauty school that cannot be professional nor am I happy over how I was treated. Overall I don't recommend this place especially because basic professionalism, and treat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience with San Jose Cinta Aveda today was unintentionally brief and laughably unprofessional.
I booked a 4:30 PM hair service over a week in advance for 2/14 (Valentineās Day.) I arrived at 4:15 to check in and was greeted by an instantly confused staff member. Vivi I think?
She asked if I had any confirmation of an appointment because all the students were leaving for the day. As I was looking up my appointment confirmation she checked my profile in the computer and said there was no record of an appointment. Then, she said, āIāll go talk to the students but Iām not making any promises.ā
She returned and finally agreed that I DID have an appointment but started to explain that there is a āglitchā in their software that let me book an appointment that wouldnāt let the student leave on time.
She said she could see my appointment in a different tab on her computer screen and if she had checked it earlier in the day she could have called me to ask me to come in at 3:30 to get a service in time. That didnāt happen.
She said she hated that this happened, especially on Valentineās Day but there was āsimply no solutionā and apologized. There was no, āWhat can I do to make sure you come back in the future? How can we make this up to you?
Just, āOur software is bad. We canāt help you. There is no solution. Sorry.ā
This isnāt the first time Iāve had an appointment cancelled here same-day but Iāve always gotten a few hours notice. Iāve never gotten this kind of service.
Of all days, Valentineās is probably the most important day to ensure your appointment for a beauty service comes through.
All that to say, if you NEED a service when you schedule it, you canāt rely on this place. If you absolutely need a wax before a vacay or your hair done before an event or V-day, you canāt bank on this spot.
I hope to hear from the Cinta Aveda folks to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend this school to anyone. My daughter wants to go to beauty school and I will not let her go here. First off if you need any help from administration they will not respond to your emails. It states if you reach out to student services they will get back to you in like three days , they still have yet to answer me and that was over three months ago. I never received my mud make up kit and neither did the other two girls in my class and getting the refund took a lot of time and effort on my part, I don't think the other girls even got theirs. when I would show up to the school per their mistakes they have the audacity to tell me I need to wait, the administration staff is so rude and totally inconsiderate of your time. Tina Porter is in charge of proof of training documents and almost everything on that document was wrong including my social security number, email, phone number and year graduated because of this they would not let schedule my licensing exam. I had to go in and have her correct it and she was so rude she didn't even apologize. Mary Grace and Tina are completely oblivious of other peoples time or they just don't care what other people have going on in their lives. Also the clock in system to get your hours is horrible and they are aware of it and do nothing to fix the problem, and then they get irritated when you advocate for yourself. All in all unprofessional unorganized low quality of work and work ethic, also pretty low quality of teaching too with the exception of a few teachers. All in all find a place whereyou will not have problems with your hours , and a place that will respond to your needs and concerns after all you are paying to be here. Cinta was not a very friendly...
