The chips are stale and the salsa is very bland in terms of flavor. The back door, including the screen door, were left wide open; not much later there was either a giant knat or a baby fly floating around my food. Apparently, when I walked in the waitress was on break so one of the owners had to seat me. He never once asked me how things were, so I never got a box to take the rest of my food home and regretfully ate too much of a below average burrito. The waitress had to be told to check on me. The whole time I ate one of the worker's (maybe an owner's) kid whined about wanting a cat. In addition, a bunch of people who presumably ran the place walked around doing god knows what. In fact it seemed like it was a place for the family to hang out more than it did a place of business. I really do not know how they keep the place open because there was no one else in the joint when I left. This was one of the most disappointing lunch experiences I've ever had. I discovered Mama Lupita's a few months ago when I was in the mood for Mexican food. The area I work in has mostly chain and Asian restaurants. The restaurant is in a nondescript older building flanked by a Pho place and a beauty salon. I almost drove past it the first time I went there. I'm truly glad I didn't! The food, service and ambiance are exceptional. Mama Lupita's reminds me of restaurants I've been to when visiting Puerto Vallarta, Cabo or Mazatlan. So far everything I've enjoyed there has been authentic and truly flavorful! ✨️ I highly recommend any of their seafood dishes. Both the Camarones a la Diabla and Camarones al MOJO de Ajo were awesome for and the Caldo de Res was to die for. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality and quantity of food on your plate. I went to take my sister out for her birthday at Mama lupitas on the weekend to eat. Some Menudo and the Menudo had nothing in it not a lot of tripe just a bone in there. There was no napkins. Service was no good and was slow. The food wasn’t great I could eat at McDonald’s and save myself 100 bucks And McDonald’s would’ve been a lot better if I took my sister there at least we would have napkins and condiments and the food taste great at McDonald’s that will be the last I go to Mama lupitas first and last I found a better place, where they serve a good bowl of menudo I recommend people not going you’re just gonna waste your money.
