I visited this place with 3 other friends and an infant. The place was pretty empty for a Friday evening. We ordered everything vegetarian - tofu kaprow, drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and panang curry. The dishes tasted good. But somehow there was just too much oil in the noodles. We had to get 2 things checked on though - we sent back the drunken noodles to check a protein piece because it looked like beef but the staff assured it was thinly sliced tofu piece which was extra burnt hence looked like red meat. We also sent back side of white rice, because they were not entirely cooked, they were like 20-30% raw at the least. The staff replaced the rice and also offered a complementary samosa appetizer for the miss.
My friend ordered a lychee soju but it just tasted like lychee juice and we seriously thought if they just put water instead of soju. I didnāt like the portions for entrees considering all their entrees are $20. To me it seemed like being overly smart in designing the menu by splitting the dish costs at two places - protein prices and dish prices. But if you donāt add any protein, even the mixed vegetables are charged at $2. So if Iām ordering a $17 kaprow, do you think the dish in the picture is worth that much after removing the additional paid tofu? Other than the curry, I donāt think the entrees were big enough to serve an average American.
Finally, my biggest pain for this experience, or a smart move by the restaurant was they even counted an infant as a party and included an 18% gratuity for large party without informing us. It was marked as āfees and chargesā in kiosk so if we hadnāt clarified we would have paid up more in tips unwantedly.
Because of these hidden tactics Iāll most likely not visit this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried this new Thai street food spot ā itās small but really cute inside, with nice Halloween dĆ©cor. The service was good. I ordered the Pad Thai and specifically asked for chicken, medium spice. The flavor was great and the spice level was an authentic Thai medium, not the toned-down American kind.
That said, two things didnāt work. First, there was barely any chicken ā maybe three small pieces total, even though I asked for chicken Pad Thai. Second, toward the end, there were these crunchy bits that tasted like eggshells, which made it hard to finish the dish.
The food itself had good flavor, but the lack of chicken and the eggshell issue were disappointing. Prices also run a bit higher than other casual Thai spots, so I was expecting more for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're looking for authentic Thai food with that "home-cooked with love" feeling, this is the place. The restaurant is small and cozy, and you can immediately tell it's family-run--the warmth and care really shine through, both in the food and the service.
Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh and balanced, with the perfect mix of flavors--spicy, savory, and a little sweet, just the way Thai food should be. The Pad Thai was spot-on, not too oily, and the curries were rich and comforting. I also loved how they were willing to adjust spice levels to taste. Highly recommend the Pad Thai Noodles.
Whether you're grabbing takeout or sitting down for a relaxed meal, this spot is a gem. I'll definitely be coming back and bringing...
