A pretty high quality pho restaurant that solely focuses on this beef pho broth they have along with various cuts of filet mignon they use It's a little salty with hints of msg! I ordered #12 that had a flank slice, a fatty slice and a steak that came in multiple slices! There was also a thin noodle that was just alright inside. The toppings that they include are bean sprouts and lime as well as mint. But you can order some more premium toppings and extra premium meets such as oxtails and even a while beef rib thats really flavorful and falls off the bone easily! Be aware that due to the quality of all these meats, most of these dishes at least start at $20 and can increase from there. Adding stuff like the oxtails like i mentioned is an extra $9, but the quality definitely reflects that! Especially on their Instagram posts... Other than that, the whole restaurant itself looks pretty nice with their decorations including the roof tiles, but some interesting roof decorations as including a disco ball and extra fun coloured lights, maybe it doubles as a dance area in the night? On the table too is all the regular condiments and supplies at the table such as Sriracha, hot chili sauce, spoons and more! They also offer milk tea. That is pretty average, but you can also get it for free if you type up a Yelp review specifically... (sorry google people :( ). But, once you mention that to the friendly staff about that review, as you get up and pay for your table (Make sure you remember the table number) as with other Vietnamese restaurants they'll just make sure not to charge you for the milk tea or thai milk tea.

Broth is OK. Not great. It needs more depth. Busy at 1:30pm on a Saturday. There was a 15 minute wait for a table for one. I ordered their #2 pho with beef rib $22. Inside the soup base, they claim there are flank, brisket, tendons, tripe, two beef balls. There's no options for egg noodles, flat rice or fresh noodles. When it arrived, I was a bit disappointed. It felt like I got sent to a remedial class for something I didn't do. The broth was off. Meat pieces were a bit too chewy. The beef rib is a crap-shoot. People around me got smaller or bigger pieces. I felt bad for the lady adjacent to me. Her beef rib was a huge bone, but hardly any meat. Regardless, not as good as their competitors. Since the meat was too tough, I asked for a pair of scissors but got a knife. The knife was not good enough to cut the chewy meat and I had to ask for a pair of scissors again. Service was OK as the restaurant was really busy. Side note, there's a free Thai tea promotion if you leave a Yelp review. As a ethical guy, I don't redeem those types of offers because some might see that as a bias in my words and a conflict of interest.

**Pho Quest #79** As a Northern pho fan, I’ve found my preferred spot but when I saw a recent video stating the best pho in San Jose, I had to rekindle my quest to try the most recent additions. Unfortunately, for me, I went to the wrong pho spot (another that started with a D was listed as the best in San Jose). That’s no fault of Pho Duoi Bo. So here’s my take on this spot that is housed in the plaza best known for also housing long time hu tieu specialist Nam Vang. Pros: - Multiple meat options including oxtail, short rib, and “Kobe” beef torched by kerosene torch ($11.99 add on) - nicely minced and julienned scallions - fresh and thin rice noodle options Cons: - OVERLY sweet broth. Reportedly may be a preference for southern style pho, but I prefer cleaner, meatier broth as a base and should you My order: pho tai ~ filet mignon pho $16.95. Side of torched “kobe” beef $11.99, bowl of beef balls $7.50. Yes, it was a pricey bowl of noodle soup but I had to try. Dining is indoor only and credit cards are accepted.

First time here. I'm not from town, but I do enjoy pho when I do pass by san jose. I love trying new places. Trying to find the hidden gem. I read some really great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Closing late definitely a plus. I think tonight was the latest I've had pho lol. Anyways, food was really good. I wouldn't say the best in town like other guests mentioned. But definitely a different dining experience. Was super greasy and salty. But nothing crazy like i wouldn't eat it. But definitely room for improvement. The location was nice and the restaurant was comfy and clean. Service was okay. But not to make me come back to this location. I don't mind asking for things twice. But I don't ask for things 3 times, cuz there's no need. I just decided to eat without my requested add ons since I don't like bugging. The food and cleanliness can be superb, but customer service will ruin a guest experience, especially someone new and to a recently opened restaurant. Maybe I'll give it another try in a few years. Overall, I would give it a 3/5 stars, but put 4/5 just cuz I don't like to drop restaurants score to much for things that...
