Tacos Autlense — Restaurant in San Jose

my girlfriend likes to go to this taqueria for about 23 years almost since they opened it, to me also because I like their fries and their tacos. and the combo 29 combo, I always liked the kind and considerable service of any establishment since as a client I think that is what we all join, not only be welcome for your spending but for education if not because at least I have always been educated and appropriate in my way of talking with the waitresses and their cooks, I am a quiet person that if you give me a good service not only I leave you a good tip, but also recommend you with almost all San Jose who know well and sometimes my work asks me where they can eat after ten o'clock at night and if I know about 200,000 people in this city are a 1/4 of what I know and many times I have interaction with all those people in a day and they are few, but not to exaggerate. I asked some tacos to the senorita in this taqueria today and it was specific and very polite and above all I explained very well what I would like at that moment of food and apparently she said she understood, minutes after that the waitress brought me my drinks and then my tacos and then some fries that I asked, when finally after a while the lady turned to my table I made a hand sign to please come to my table and very cordially I said with a soft tone. I asked the lady, I spoke to the other waitress who take my order a while ago that if I can order 3 tacos of beef meat and to please make sure not so chopped, and if there is any additional cost for the food for me was fine, and express that I very gladly paid for it, and regardless of what it was the cost, obviously With embarrassment face like she did not understand using a skills to make me feel bad, she answer me by said let me see if they want to change them I said ok, then she went to the kitchen and in the middle of the kitchen and the entrance of the registers she did ask the cooks if they could make the tacos with the meet not to shopped, then I was talking with my girlfriend and when I was drinking my coffee I heard that a person with woman's voice says so "so that's why I do not like to take care of him" and then I look up at my girlfriend and I realize mi girlfriend was super serious and with a face a little annoying, sadly face but reserved in some way calm and trying to understand what just was happened at that moment. then I was completely surprised and very bewildered for that I look at my girlfriend face and what I just listen by the waitress and ask my girlfriend a simple question "sorry but I do not know if I understood wrong or listen well" I seemed to hear that someone among the waitresses said "that's why I do not like to take care of him" right or wrong? and my girlfriend answered me "yes, that's what I heard too then I said ok, ask my girlfriend" you saw who was the person who made the comment by chance? My girlfriend said "no" I answered ok. Then after a while when one of the waitresses came to see me after I made a sign and asked her to come to my table, very serious and politely I asked her, Sorry to call you and my intention is not to bother but I would like to know something the girl with a serious face told me, go ahead? I wanted to know why I think I heard a person a moment a go when you took my tacos to be prepared again"a woman's voice said textually" that's why I do not like to take care of him "and I would like to know if there is any problem with my order or with us, because I have never given problems and I have never been rude, and if you like at this moment I can retire so you do not feel bad? she said no sir that's wasn't not said by the girl for you, Seriously it was not for you! There is a restaurant on Story Road called Tacos Autlense. DO NOT go there it's disgusting. I had their seafood soup and they literally put slices of raw fish in their soup like they take the fish and they cut it into cubes and then put it in the soup it is freaking nasty. And what was halfway decent didn't taste like anything at all had no flavor and there was bits and pieces of it that tasted like that fish maybe it's because I was already grossed out from that incident but it was gross. I'm not even the type to complain I'm not even a picky eater and it was so bad that I went back to the restaurant and returned almost all of it and on top of it they got my order wrong. Came in today, 3/25/25 just after 945pm. Was in the area and looking for some tacos and simply went based off of “top rated tacos” and Tacos Autlense was the pick.

Went with 2 asada and 2 Al pastor. Coke to sip on.

Service was pleasant and fast. Got my order in and chips and salsa to start. Nothing crazy but they were ok. My order maybe took 5 minutes tops and the tacos looked pretty normal, salsa, onion, cilantro.

The Al pastor was mediocre at best. Nothing special and definitely no a “traditional” in the way the meat was sliced or prepared. The asada was standard and average.

I was taken aback since San Jose has a large Hispanic and Asian influence and these just barely met my expectations. They did the job but not sure I would ever come back. It lacked flavor but I will say there was enough meat to maybe have 2 tacos for every 1...
