Just ate dinner at this restaurant tonight my wife my son and myself. We had a medium pizza $23 2 dinner salads $4.75 each. One rigatoni dinner $9.50 And one meat ravioli dinner $10.50 +3 cokes $4.50 each for a glass of soda that was mostly ice. Oh sorry I’m looking at the beer three dollars it sor $3.00 each for a glass of soda that was mostly ice. For a total of $72 and some change. Any place that charges for a glass refill of soda is the place to be avoided. I can only think of one other restaurant in my life that charged for refills on soft drinks and that was the Creekside restaurant in Willow Glen that is no longer around I wonder why. I don for a total of $72 and some change. Any place that charges for a glass refill of soda is the place to be avoided. I can only think of one other restaurant in my life that charged for refills on soft drinks and that was the Creekside restaurant in Willow Glen that is no longer around I wonder why. How this place is been around for so long I don’t understand. Do you order your items when you walk in they bring them to your table it took a while for the person I was waiting on the tables to come by and clean up the empty dishes from the salad and the other items before they brought the dinner dishes out first they bring the pizza and then right after that they bring your dinner so you have all this food on your table you’re trying to eat instead of timing things. My advice to anyone that wants Italian food stick with Georgio‘s or buy your letter raviolis at Lavilla in Willow Glen I have to say the pizza was actually decent on a scale of 1 to 10 I put it out about a seven maybe a possible eight. The ravioli here taste like some frozen ones that I’ve had from Smart and final there more like around Porgi style. Just not very impressed with this place plus it had a weird smell to it like a sewer smell coming from somewhere. As stated in some prior reviews in being a plumber I know when I smell sewer gas. Hope this helps anybody looking to check this place out I would skip it and go somewhere else even Mamma Mia’s in Campbell for the same price of this meal you get a lot more of the food quality is...
Read moreRecommended by a co-worker, I decided to make the trek down to DiMaggios to try this stromboli that I had been hearing about.
First off, this place is the definition of a "Hole in the wall". Very dated in and out, but the dining and seating areas appeared reasonably clean and cared for. In a strange twist, you order at the counter, then sit and then one of the various employees will take a guess at which order goes where. I ordered a stromboli and my wife ordered a small combo pizza. A kid brought a stromboli out and sat it in front of me. Just as I was about to dig in, he swipes it away and gives it to another customer... After I'd had my silverware on the plate. I questioned his decision to "re-serve" the food, but he just looked at me funny. Finally another one comes out along with the wife's pizza, and I have to admit... They were both excellent! Finished dining and went up for a pizza box to take the left overs home. I ask the guy at the register for a box and he replies "Sure!" as he walks past me into the seating area. The rest of the help behind the counter just kinda stared off as if I didn't exist. A few minutes later, he comes back and stands there for a minute and then another employee finally hands him a box.... Now, finally time to pay up. The cashier ruffles through a stack of register slips and takes various guesses as to which was ours. He eventually figures it out and cashes us out. Pricing was about where it should be for the food quality and quantity. (BTW, no drink refills. Want another 12oz of soda?, it's another $2.50!)
In the end, I loved the food. It was reminiscent to Italian food I'd had back in Long Island with my Italian neighbors. But the way things run here are bizarre. I'd have overlooked this, but the staff was just as bizarre as the business itself. Attentiveness is not a strong point.
If this place wasn't on the other end of a gridlocked Camden Ave/Capital Expwy from me, I might give it another chance. But one thing about San Jose is that there are restaurants everywhere. I'll save the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Tony Di Maggio's Pizza, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly customer service that made me feel right at home.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the pizza! I ordered a large combo pizza, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside, just the way I like it. The generous toppings of fresh vegetables, savory meats, and gooey cheese created a flavor explosion in every bite. It was evident that the ingredients were of high quality, and the pizza was crafted with care and expertise.
The ambiance of Tony Di Maggio's Pizza is another aspect that impressed me. While it's a small establishment, the cozy atmosphere adds to the charm and authenticity of the place. It truly feels like a classic pizzeria, and the lively conversations and mouthwatering aromas in the air create a vibrant and inviting environment.
When it comes to the prices, I found them to be quite reasonable and comparable to other pizza joints in the area. Considering the exceptional taste and quality of the food, I believe it offers great value for money. I left feeling satisfied both in terms of my taste buds and my wallet.
Overall, my experience at Tony Di Maggio's Pizza was nothing short of fantastic. The delicious pizza, friendly customer service, and cozy ambiance all contributed to a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in the mood for some top-notch pizza that won't break the bank. You won't be...
