Vitality Bowls — Restaurant in San Jose

I've always been a huge fan of "Vitality Bowls" ever since they first opened their first location in the Bay Area back in the early 2010's. Their focus emphasizes more on "health" compared to other smoothie shops such as "Jamba Juice" that has more sugars in their products. The location I am focusing on is their East Brokaw Road in San Jose, CA.

This particular location is in a very busy retail area so parking could be difficult to find. During my visit which was on 3/6/2021 at around 3:30pm, the safety guidelines were strictly enforced. All customers were required to wear a face covering upon entry and the business was allowing only one customer at a time. The inside of this location is small to begin with so it just doesn't offer a lot of room to gather around in a large group.

As people know, Vitality Bowls focuses on their smoothies, juices, breakfast bowls, coffees, and acai bowls. But they also have a nice selection of salads, soups, and panini sandwiches. During my visit, I ordered their "Temptation" smoothie which uses organic acai, coconut milk, strawberries, bananas, organic cacao, and dark chocolate. It's a perfect blend of ingredients that is uniquely different from the more fruit-inspired smoothies.

As I mentioned, the enforced social distancing assured of a safe experience and the employees were assuring that everything runs as smooth as possible. From the time I was ready to order to when my smoothie was ready took only about 6 minutes. And your order can be expedited with mobile ordering through the Vitality Bowls app which also earns you points and discounts towards a future purchase. With all of this combined with excellent service, I am giving the E. Brokaw Road "Vitality Bowls" a solid four...

This is my go-to location for Vitality Bowls. The employees are always welcoming, and the interior is well-kept. I have noticed a slight price hike in the menu prices over time, but considering the quality of the food prepared, it is difficult to complain. Because of my poor experiences at the Cottle Road and Vallco Parkway locations, I am loyal to visiting the Brokaw Road location. Although I have received açaí bowls not fully packed on two (2) of my visits, the bowls on every other visit I have made here (roughly ten visits) are consistently filled to the top. On my last visit to this location, the bananas in the Vitality Bowls I ordered were overripe and mushy, but after emailing this location, I received a prompt and professional response from the owner Luisa who apologized and offered to remake the Vitality Bowls free of charge on my next visit. I’m a fan of Acai bowls and came here to try out one. I ordered one of the popular bowls - Superfood Bowl. While it was good, it wasn’t the best of Acai bowls I’ve had in the Bay Area. I couldn’t say what was missing in the taste, but the combination just did not give me the wow feeling I always get from an Acai bowl. The overall taste was decent, but just did not give me enough of a satisfaction to give this item another try in the future.
