Iâm so upset. I passed the restaurant to enjoy dinner, waiting in the cold dinner floor like they donât want you too long inside had fried cheese with guava sauce and it was good, plantain soup was good, But my mamposteado rice smell like the feet of the cook or chef that made it. I canât believe that a restaurant like them donât have the chefs integrity to try the food after the cook preps it, before service and most definitely before serving it to the client . I was a hotel chef and I know the rice smelled bad because it was not properly cooled down. While Iâm paying our server lets me know that an employee had mentioned to the kitchen before service that the beans smelled bad and they clearly did not do nothing but stare at each other hoping for the shift to be done. Your management sucks. This is the last time I will go to your restaurant. Iâm actually eating at Metropol having the same dinner plate and itâs Great at Metropol. El platanal SUCKS Cooks DONT HAVE LOVE OR PASSION FOR THE FOOD THEY ARE SERVING YOU.
DONT EAT AT EL PLATANAL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Bionic Chef MIA
Update: After leaving the restaurant my wife was getting sick. She was nauseous all the way home. She ate some conch salad and told me it tasted like olives. She is feeling really bad and telling me to never go back...
Read moreI'm sure my ratings would be a little different if it was just me and my husband but we went with a group 20. The server was amazing. She did phenomenal with the amount of people and separating the tickets for each family. The drinks were AMAZING. We ordered the margaritas , the cuban libré, and an "orgasmo". They all tasted so good! My family ordered the churrasco with mofongo and churrasco with tostones and French fries. The meat was sooooo good. The mofongo was a little :rubbery: but it was still good. The tostones were perfect.
The atmosphere downstairs was beautiful. Although someone in our group said the bathroom was disgusting. The one upstairs was fine. The AC wasn't on upstairs so it was very hot and humid at first. But, again, they weren't prepared for a group our size so they weren't expecting for us to go up there.
The food and drinks took a very long time. Again, it could be the size of our group.
In all, the food , drinks, service was great. And probably would've been better if it was just...
Read moreIf you just landed in PR and are looking for a place near the airport. THIS IS THE PERFECT LOCATION. Only a few minutes drive from the Luis Muñoz Marin International airport and OPEN 24/7. This was our very 1st stop after landing in PR and it did not disappoint. The place has a very lively and cool atmosphere. We order the grilled chicken(the meat was very tender and very flavorful) comes with a side of plain white rice and a type of bean stew (similar) with a very simple small âsaladâ (literally just a few pieces of iceberg lettuce and one slice of tomato). The fried chicken (meat was tender and very flavorful) comes with a side of mixed rice and beans and a salad(lettuce and a slice of tomato). I also order fresh orange juice. Overall the meals were very satisfying and definitely fill you up! They look simple but donât let that fool ya!. All I can say is it would have been nice if our waiter was a bit more helpful with what to choose on the menu and a bit faster. The experience was a nice...
