Puttanesca Garden Hills — Restaurant in Guaynabo

We arrived in Puttanesca at the Garden Hills location for the easy parking and the great pizza. I have been to Santurce and Los Paseos locations, which are great too, although parking is a little tricky. This was my first time at Garden Hills in Guaynabo, and it was a first for everyone else at the Puttanesca. The parking was easy at 7pm, the bank lot next to the restaurant was almost empty, which was great for me walking with crutches: short distance. We loved the decoration with all the memorabilia of music from all times. They even have 8-tracks and cassettes, long plains, covers and old posters as part of it. The atmosphere was pretty cool and welcoming, the acoustic good, the background music good. We could talk from one corner of our tables to the others without being loud. The pizzas, appetizers, beers, and juices were delicious. The service was great, our young waitress gave us tons of advice and took our orders fast. Everything arrived quickly and as ordered, which was perfect because we were very hungry! Everyone loved their food, including the 2 year quite excited and picky girl, the birthday boy and the pizza fans. We ordered Cheese Pizza (with a side of basil for me), Meat Lovers pizza, the knots and chicken wings for appetizers, among other things. We agreed on repeating the visit to this Puttanesca location to repeat the experience and for the rest of the group to try the pastas...

On my last day in PR, I decided to visit a pizzeria for lunch. It was the most horrendous experience of my life. I settled on the Puttanesca pizzeria located at Garden Hills. I ordered their Combination meats with vegetables pizza. When the pizza arrived at our table, it had a most unappetizing appearence. The meats and vegetables seemed to have been thrown all over the dough without thought. When we tasted the pizza , the dough was not completely cooked and the meats and vegetables had a mushy texture. It was like the pizza had been heated in a microwave oven. In regard to the place's ambience , it was highly noisy ,due mostly to a table with unruly children and whose parents apparently condoned their type of behavior. Although she agreed with us, the waitress just shrugged her shoulders when we complained about the noise. Definitely not...

We went post lunch rush hour, around 2:15 pm. It took a while to even get a server to come to the table. After waiting a while, we place our pizza order, only to be told it would take 1 hr for the pizza to come out. We couldn’t wait that long, so we ordered a chicken salad and pasta. That took 45 minutes! Our pasta dishes were so small, it looked like kid’s portions. On top of that, it tasted blah. I was so disappointed! $53 for 2 pasta dishes and a chicken salad, plus 3 sodas. If the food would’ve been good, I happily pay. But with the long wait, not having enough cooks (they were down 1 cook) and the tasteless food, I won’t be going back again. Price vs quality and service...
