Old style deli, bakery, bar and coffes shop that attracts ALL types for delicious baked, yes BAKED. Sandwiches in a,wood fired stove. People drive up in Mercedes, on bicycles or just walk in...most democratic bakery in the world. No pretense here, just friendliness and a staff that proudly serves you wonderful food.. you can sit at countersthat are,squeezed in and define the place. Or at a fancier five seat full service bar. I love it. Nothing touristy about this place, but all are welcome. They have "real baked turkey " , by the way, Italian coldcuts... and I dare you to try their signature Jerezana sandwich. Breakfast or lunch or a coffee with pastry. They, like traditional coffee places, ask you how you like your coffee....dark or milky .. and how many sugars,do you want...AND they make it that way. Walk out with a loaf...or half loaf of warm, freshly baked bread right out of their brick oven. This is the kind of neighborhood place that doesn't exist anywhere anymore... If you think coffee from immaculate Starbucks is the way to go, with their refrigerated pastries...don t come here. Jokingly..but for real..this is the place where judges, lawyers, cops and those they deal with all day meet stripped of any titles or privilege. Delicious and down to earth, and very, very Puerto Rican... and...

I recently visited La Jerezana and I have to say, this place is a gem! The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the “Bonito” sandwich. It’s a perfect blend of flavors, featuring tuna, olives, piquillo peppers, and Swiss cheese. The ingredients are fresh, and the combination is absolutely bomb. Each bite is a delightful mix of savory and tangy, with the Swiss cheese adding just the right amount of creaminess.

What really sets this place apart is that they’ve been baking their own bread for years, and it shows. The bread in the Bonito was perfectly fresh, with a soft interior and a slightly crisp crust that brought the whole sandwich together beautifully.

This tiny bakery has been serving up delicious breads, pastries and coffee in Santurce for over 100 years. Don't come expecting fast service - the pace here is unhurried. The real reward comes when you bite into one of their creations. The bread is outstanding, with a perfect crust and light, airy interior. And the coffee is rich and robust.

But the true star is the mayorca, a sweet, eggy bread with a brioche-like texture. La Jerezana's version is perfection - light as air yet indulgently buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness.
