Taqueria La Mexicana — Restaurant in San Juan

I am a big fan of Mexican food complements to the chef , but the waitress that attended us was horrible she didn’t get our orders right she never stop for refills didn’t even bother to tell us half of the meals were gonna be a 30 min wait spent her time in the employees room I had to ask another waitress to refill my drinks because our waitress would just walk past us til we complained for our other half of the meals . At the end of it all we got frustrated we decided to leave the other half of the meal and asked for it not to be charged she said she would and ended up lying still charged us full price and even had the audacity to get tip from each of our bills because I was eating out with family. I’m very disappointed with this service at this establishment safe yourself a trip and headache by not choosing to eat at this restaurant.

Soy un gran admirador de comida mexicana y complementos para el chef por los quatro tacos que si comimos, pero la camarera que nos atendió fue horrible, no recibió nuestros pedidos correctamente, nunca se detuvo para recargar ni siquiera se molestó en decirnos que la mitad de las comidas iban a ser 30 minutos de espera pasé su tiempo en la habitación de los empleados. Tuve que pedir a otra camarera que me volviera a llenar las bebidas porque nuestra camarera pasaba por delante de nosotros hasta que nos quejamos de nuestra otra mitad de las comidas. Al final de todo, nos frustramos, decidimos dejar la otra mitad de la comida y pedimos que no se le cobrara, ella dijo que lo haría y terminó mintiendo, todavía nos cobró el precio completo e incluso tuvo la audacia de recibir propina de cada uno de nuestras facturas porque estaba comiendo con mi familia. It's sad to have to diminish the stars in a review of a restaurant with such delicious food. Even the bean soup cup served to everybody as an appetizer is expertly prepared. I had to bump down the atmosphere points because someone was running a vacuum nearby while we were trying to have conversation over dinner! Not okay. It almost feels like an invitation to leave. In my defense, we were dining at 6:30, not after hours. And the service was...well, abysmal. Our server began summarizing our order before my son got to order! Then, when the food arrived, my meal did not arrive. I asked him about I and he laid blame on me by saying, "You didn't tell me." First of all...WHAAAT?!?" If the only man at the table of a large family didn't give you his order, isn't it your job as the server to take his order? At the very least, check with him to make sure he doesn't want to order food. Right? For my part, I am pretty sure I did order, but it's possible that it slipped my mind. I was focused on making sure my children, my wife, and my mother were taken care of. I don't think it's an unreasonable expectation that a competent server would be responsible to ensure everybody at his table is served. Furthermore, if someone is not served, it is the height of rudeness to blame the person who is sitting there with no food in front of him!

So, we probably won't be back...

We came to San Juan de Los Lagos church frm out of town and hadn't eaten breakfast to make it on time for mass. We saw this restaurant close by. We hve nvr been there so whn we seen the menu didn't see much Mexican food, it is mostly meat like mini tacos, chalupas, fajitas, etc. Something like a food truck would sell. We asked the waiter if they had enchiladas cuz not on menu & he said yes. The 5 kids ordered 8 bean & cheese tacos & quesadillas. We waited and waited & another waiter comes to say they hve no enchiladas so we ordered tortas for 3 adults. Not what we expected at all. They ddnt tell us they were mini tacos and tortas hardly had bistec & had like a sandwich ham in it, the fries weren't cooked all the way. One of the kids liked quesadillas. At this point we were frustrated and hungry frm waiting. Other tables after us got served before us. We just told the kids to eat 2 EA of mini tacos just to set their hunger a little. I ddnt eat my torta, gave half & half to 2 kids but one half had something hard in it so he had to spit it out. No one ate the fries. After that we left. They ddnt charge the drinks or fries....
