I LOVE Bing's Bao Buns. Growing up in a Chinese family, I was raised on bao. And Bing's bao is honestly my favorite I've ever had, anywhere. First, I love the bun thickness to fillings ratio--it's exactly how I personally like them, with the bun not so thick that it overwhelms the flavor of the filling. Second, I love that Bing's always offers a variety of plant-based options for both their bao and additional menu items, including Kimchi Fried Rice. Whether you are vegan, or vegetarian, or not, their plant-based options are just as flavorful and satisfying as anything on their menu. Third, Bing's offers so many amazing items, beyond bao, including Lo Mein Noodles and Tater Tots. I highly recommend the Bing's Seasoning edition of the Tater Tots. It has a very tasty and memorable kick, without being too spicy for those who can't tolerate too much. And on top of all of that, Bing's always has the best customer service. They make you feel truly appreciated for your patronage, and that is important. They are family-owned, and personally, I love getting to support high-quality businesses that are. Plus, they have a wide selection of cool imported snacks, and a wide selection of tasty mochi too, including vegan mochi. I feel they go above and beyond at what they do, and are such a true gem in our Central California Coast. In all of my bao from D.C. to SoCal, I still love the ones here at Bing's in San Luis Obispo the best.

Update: Came by on a Saturday and got to try out their Bao Buns. Great buns, flavorful, pillowy soft and hot. We got the tri-tip brisket buns. We also tried the squid and the shishito peppers. Everything was great! Original review: Needed a snack and decided to come back to this location as the craving hit. Had the fried chicken in Sweet Ginger Soy, Sichuan Fire and Sweet Orange. Current favorites are the ginger and sichuan but it was at the end of the day. Will be giving the sweet orange another try when it is in the beginning of the day. They came with a bed of rice noodles. Crispy and yet addicting. The first time we were there, we got to try the homemade pickles, they were delicious! This time around we tried their fries with a secret sauce to dip them in. Sauce went really well with the Sweet Orange Chicken as well. The owners are always great and so friendly!! Will definitely keep coming back. And one of these times will get there during the lunch time to get a bao bun before they sell out. :) (Just FYI, the fried chicken goes with the beer at bottlecraft just down the way.)

This was my first time buying and I have to say that I am happy with it! I guess they cycle through different kinds and today I had the beef bao and garlic chicken bao. I loved the beef bao but the garlic chicken was even better! Definitely recommend both if I'm being honest. Not sure what the sauce was called but went well with these baos though if you want to eat them by themselves you definitely can and it will taste good. My only complaint is that for the price, I wish I got 4 instead of 3 baos. Otherwise, it was overall great! The man taking orders and ringing me up was kind and helped explain to me what I was getting. This place is located in the SLO public market so similar to my last review in this area, the location was nice and busy but not overly crowded. I'd recommend this place!

Brillant Bao-mongers Blast-open the Buniverse! The local Buniverse will never ever be the same since the Bing's are here. This charming Mom & Pop & two little Kid-uns super-team are just what the "cultural wasteland" of the Central Coast needed.

I literally have eaten Buns & all kinds of Dim Sum thousands of times, all through the USA, Europe, Asia, & Hawaii....and have yet to have anything close to Bing's Baos.

I will now never look at a Dim Sum Food Cart with envy for pedestrian Buns, since the Bing Family has ruined me for life.

The Mushroom Baos were Bursting with savory Chai Sui yumminess, that one cannot find on any cart that I know of. The filling to dough ratio was beyond anything I have dreamed of before, and they must have modeled them on ambrosial versions found in the heavens.

Originally, I was going to go for the pork version, but apparently, it would have taken more than an hour for a new batch. The owner was wonderful & offered to give my money back or switch to the Vege Bun.

Since I read every Facebook post from the Bings for the past several years, there was no way, I was walking out without trying some Buns.

So while I waited to get eats from two next door vendors, namely Baht's great Curry & CCC's wonderful stinky Cheeses, I also waited for the Buns to be.

Yes, one may have to deal with a wait, or even lines, or even a sold-out situation, but it is all well worth the wait. Once you sink your jaws into a succulent Bings Bun, all is OK with the darned world.

This hardworking Mom & Pop, went from selling Buns from the home to running this start-up business, while raising two little Bings, & working two other jobs...so please applaud their can-do attitude, especially in these times. The mom hails from NJ, right near where I grew up in the Big Apple. Both Mom & Pop missed great Dim Sum-type eats in the Central Coast and decided a few years back to actually do something about it. Amazingly, despite being new at this Bun-fabrication, they somehow made major advances along the way.

It may even make you forget we have a Pandemic or even a pending Apocalypse!

Don't worry, look up...there are Bing's Bao Buns...

Yes, they are...

Whenever I find myself in SLO, a visit to Bing’s Bao Buns is an absolute must. What I originally thought would be a one-time stop turned into a full-blown obsession after just one bite! Everything I’ve ordered has been bursting with flavor and made with care.

I’ve sampled a good portion of their menu, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of it. But if I had to narrow it down, my top picks would be: their incredible house-made bao buns (obviously), any of their rich, comforting ramen bowls, and the unforgettable Mayak Avocado. Each dish has blown me away—it’s rare to find a spot that nails it every single time. Oh, and don’t leave without grabbing a container of their spicy kimchi to-go. You’ll thank me later.

Beyond the food, the vibe at Bing’s is warm and inviting. The staff is always friendly, especially the person at the counter who never fails to brighten the experience. I also love browsing the unique snacks and goodies they have on display—you’ll find treats you’d never see at your typical grocery store.

All in all, Bing’s Bao Buns is one of those rare gems that I’ll keep coming back to. I can’t recommend it...
