I recently visited Casa Maria restaurant & bakery and I must say, it was an extremely disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of disorganization and lack of attention to detail. The restaurant appeared unkempt and in need of a thorough cleaning.
The service was incredibly slow and unprofessional. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in providing a pleasant dining experience. It took an excessive amount of time for our orders to be taken and even longer for the food to arrive at our table. The lack of efficiency was frustrating and made the overall experience quite unpleasant.
When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The flavors were bland, and the presentation lacked any sort of creativity. It was evident that the dishes were prepared haphazardly and without much thought or care. The portion sizes were also very small, leaving us feeling unsatisfied and still hungry after our meals.
To make matters worse, the bakery selection was limited and the items on display looked stale and unappetizing. It was clear that the baked goods had been sitting out for quite some time, which is definitely not what I expect from a bakery.
Overall, my experience at Casa Maria restaurant & bakery was not a good one. I left feeling extremely disappointed and unlikely to ever return. The lack of cleanliness, slow service, mediocre food, and unappetizing bakery items made for an overall unsatisfactory visit. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a quality...
Read moreI haven't been to this location in San Marcos, but I tell you, this may just be my last. Kamilla was our server, or at least I thought she was. Not once did she come to clean out or table little by little. Ask about refills, there were several of us, so they decided to add 20% gratuity on our tab for not continuing to work for her tip. I am normally a great tipper because I've done this myself before. So, I know how hard you have to work to get a decent tip, and sometimes no matter how hard you work, you don't get a great tip. I disputed the bill because I told them not once did she come to check on us. She'd passed us several times, we'd flag her down, or she didn't come at all. I think it's important to understand, to get your tips is to work for your tips. The food was good. We stopped off at the bakery on our way out. I just don't think no service justifies 20% of my bill. It was a nice brunch with girlfriends, but I hope the wait staff understands that keeping in touch with your clients mostly equals a great tip. I always tip more than 20% when I get great service. I wish her well and does a better job in the future. I know it's not easy to work in this industry....
Read moreSo we went to have breakfast this morning, our waitress was outstanding. We had an issue with my wife’s plate. It comes with potatoes and they not only were cold, they tasted old like they had been sitting there for awhile. We got her attention and asked her to bring us some fresh potatoes. Well shortly after another short skinny little waitress comes up and says “ if you want new potatoes we have to take your plate so we can replace them if not, we have to charge you for the other potatoes” I immediately told her no, that will make the rest of her food cold and also taking it back could cause germs. We told her never mind, we weren’t going to be dealing with ignorance. Our original waitress comes back about a minute later and brings us the fresh potatoes. We don’t know if this was the kitchens decision to want the plate back or that other waitress idea but it was stupid. If they really wanted the potatoes back, they could have brought another plate and we would have scooped them in there. We didn’t touch them and they remained on the plate. Still baffled by how they tried to handle it other than our waitress Jasmine B who did a...
