I post reviews because I want people to go to this place so it stays in business forever.
Churchill's had about 40 beers on tap split about evenly into IPAs, stouts, sours, and mixed session beers I think. It's a bit fuzzy now but there tap selection is always awesome and they always have some seasonal beer based tap take over mini season that means you always have to come here see what SD brewery is on tap.
Churchill's has some awesome pub food and grill menu items. Essentially everything on the menu is beer comfort food that's interesting and generously portioned. We normally get English Nachos which is essentially fresh made potato chips with bacon, sour cream, and melted pub cheese. You could get crispy fries instead of crispy chips if you want as an included side. I recommend you also eat that with a side of yellow curry... because you can get that with this pub. We also always get the special which for this week was a Jamaican meat pie that was savory seasoned ground beef stuffed in a crispy yet slightly fluffy baked crust served over some awesome crispy fries generously covered with some spicy jerk-ish rub. Even the chicken strips did not disappoint with perfectly cooked and tender chicken and their fried batter that reminds me of beer batter mixed with fried chicken skin. We had that with fresh crispy potato chips served with the entree. But the sticky toffe pudding causes fights because it's a moist sponge cake served in a wide dish bowl lightly-filled with a euphoric lake of toffee sauce with a dollop of whip cream atop, all placed in the center of the table as we were then immediately armed with spoons.
Two pool tables, lots of wooden taverns furniture, and just enough small and mid-sized lcds up high playing sports but that, thankfully, dont make this place feel like a sports bar restaurant place. Service is always friendly and accommodating.
The parking is tricky sometimes because they have space for about 25 cars in the lot before you need to look somewhere else. It's popular, been here for a while and never...
Read moreHIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! I had to delete a good review because of a terrible experience. Whenever visiting Churchill’s on Wednesday nights you’ll experience and awful wait time because of how popular there wings are. It’s to bad that great food can’t make you forget AWFUL, TERRIBLE and UNSATISFACTORY customer service. I’ve been coming here for about a year, I always sat in the outside patio with friends and family, that’s all changing. Yesterday, May 23, my party of 5 put our name down for a table hoping the experience would be better, whenever we are outside a server take anything from 10-20 minutes to check back in. We were hoping that an inside table would have better service from the servers. We got sat around 8:15pm and who seem to be our server(CHASEN BERGSTROM) took our drink and food order and never made his way back to our table and it was 9:57 pm. We had to ask for napkins and plates 3 times and (CHASEN) never came back to give us water refills or ask if we wanted an other beer or more wings. We did get offer a water refill by a server(ROXY) who calmes she was the server and (CHASEN) was covering her in her 30min break. Get this she never greeted us letting us know that (CHASEN) was covering her or greeted us she only asked if we wanted more water, if she was the server she did awful, never asked if we wanted anything else. Having had such a bad experience and trying to get bussers and other employees attention a couple of times my party decided to get up and walk out in order to get there attention. I tried explaining to CHASEN THE SITUATION AND WHY WE DID WHAT WE DID, he refused to listen and called us criminals when no one was refusing to pay! He yelled in my face telling us to get out and saying he’ll call the cops. Churchill’s has forgotten that what makes a restaurant successful is CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP! They need to work on having better service and servers and sadly a better manger. They have lost a customer and I hope they fix this problem before...
Read moreI stopped into Churchill's last night to have a late night snack. Frankly I have never been treated so disrespectfully in any Establishment ever in my life. I did not have my glasses with me, therefore I misread the late night food menu. The eldest of the bartenders so very rudely explained, with his brow down showering me with as much anger as he possibly could without disturbing everyone around us that, they only serve what's on this menu. I asked him if he was having a bad day or does he treat everyone this rudely. No I'm just very busy. One glanced around the room proved he was either lying or had no idea what a busy bar looks like. I chose the chicken wings. When I enquired of the different types of chicken wings scowling at me again, he reluctantly begin to read off the different types. By this time I've been so insulted I wanted to leave The Establishment but I had realized it was 10:30 at night it was either this or fast food. Shortly after ordering the wings I sat there and wondered if they're going to treat me this way in public I began to wonder what they could possibly be doing to my food in the kitchen. I did not see the bartender walk back to the kitchen therefore I felt somewhat safe my food would not be tampered with. The wings were good. But by this time my Saturday evening had come to a screeching halt. I felt so insulted I wasn't even in the mood to speak with the attractive young lady that stood next to me, I left immediately after eating. I can't imagine ever stopping into this establishment again for any reason, other than personally explaining the situation to upper management. I try to be as respectful as I can to people, I've never in my life wrote a review such as this. Normally I'm able to shower the business with good words and good...
