an old fashioned panaderia... no more no less. all i care about is value and authentic goods services and products. these people make tortillas the real way, and the taste shows. most people dont know authentic Mexican bakeries DO sell tortillas if you ask for them. i suggest the pastries that are true to original recipes and ways of making and baking : the conchas, empanadas, and campechanas are my "holy trilogy" haha. the empanadas are filled with sweet potato, with the right amount of spices for people like me who want traditional sweet empanadas.. but they got fruit filled ones for those who prefer that kind.. the campechanas are flaky, sweet and true to their Mexico origin..I've seen documentaries on Mexican cuisine - - campechanas are very labor intensive, you wouldn't believe the amount of work that goes in it!! it's similar to how the Italians hand pull and form pasta - - a true pastry art form that machines can't reproduce! they dont have "sit down" chairs to sit in, and they don't offer coffee, so I can't give them five 5 stars. i prefer to have my Mexican pastry breaks with coffee, preferably sitting inside somewhere, and...
Read moreThe only saving grace about this place was the service. When we walked in, we saw 2 tables inside and decided to eat on site. After ordering a carrot cake for myself and a cupcake for my husband, we asked the cashier if they had napkins and utensils. She apologized and said “No”. 😒 I looked at her and said “So I’m just supposed to eat my cake with my hands?” Apparently yes... Upon closer inspection of my cake, I realized it had been cheaply sealed in a cheap plastic covering by being melted in each end. It did its job by keeping the moisture in, but I was skeptical about how long the cake had actually been sitting in its plastic wrap. The cupcake in the other hand, was not sealed and we could taste how stale it was. I’ve never been to a bakery that seals its pieces of cake with plastic, with NO utensils, NO napkins, and doesn’t sell anything to drink. Needless to say, we won’t be...
Read moreWalked into an empty store without anyone around or at the counter. After waiting for a several minutes an old lady appeared from the back and asked in a stern tone "can i help you?"... I brushed it off and my wife then tells the lady very politely what she would like. After saying it in English three separate times, my wife starts to say it in Spanish. The old lady rudly interrupts her mid sentence and says "I. Can't. Understand. You.".... kind of strange when a Mexican bakery doesnt speak Spanish or English... Without saying another word we left. Needless to say I will never be back. Sorry for bothering your business...
