Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery — Restaurant in San Marcos

Wow. Simply wow. I think these might be some of the best kolaches I've ever had. We stopped by around 0900 after a doctor visit since it was the closest donut/kolache shop (I prefer kolaches) on the way home. Even after the workday had already started for a lot of folks, they still had a line that was out the door! The mushroom/swiss was unfortunately sold out, which is a shame, because I think my toddler would've liked it. Instead, she had the jalapeño and cheese. I had the hatch chile and the Polish jalapeño. One of them left an extremely pleasant lingering "burn" for the rest of the drive back out to Canyon Lake (a good thing!), but both were delicious. From the way my kiddo inhaled hers, I'd say she agreed.

Definitely planning to stop by for more of them in a couple of weeks after her wellness checkup since they're open until 3pm! Honestly, I'll probably find excuses to stop by anytime we're in San Marcos; they...

This is literally my first google review because I usually don’t have terrible service because I am always very kind to the individuals handling my food. I usually love dos gatos! I always go to the one on LBJ which I 100% love but had to go to the Wonder World one today. Will not be coming back sadly. The woman who took my order was rushing me after every response I gave to her; honestly stressed me out and I wasn’t deciding slow or anything. She just sounded annoyed with every response I made to her questions. She didn’t even warm up the kolaches and charged me for a latte even though I asked for an iced coffee. I really just felt like she hated me for no reason and I ended up having to leave to warm up my kolaches at home because I was honestly so turned off by her bad attitude. Kolache heaven.... They have both meat and fruit types. They have some you never knew you needed, but YOU DO... things like, Hatch chili and sausage, chorizo, bacon cheese and jalapeño (orbw/out jalapeño) polish sausage sauerkraut.... Cheese & jalapeño sausage, breakfast sausage, I was going to get photos after I ate outside at the tables IN THE SHADE 👌, but the line was now out the door. Seemed like they had some full on coffee and smoothies too. I'll get back SOON and aquire some photos. Friendly staff, they informed me a location was almost complete in New Braunfels (Gruene area).
