My boyfriend and I came in on a Friday night for our anniversary. We came in and it wasn't as busy as we thought it was. Our waiter basically dismissed us as we were sat and didn't take our order. We were then asked what we wanted to drink by a separate waitress. (Keep in mind not all tables were filled by the time we were sat.) The waiter finally made his way towards us and didn't even make eye contact or acknowledge us. Just simply asked what we wanted and left.

We both ordered Egg drop soup and we had saw a table had just been served the same as we were there before them. He then looked at us and shouted "egg drop soup right!?" We said yes the 10 minutes later we were served our first course. Keep in mind my boyfriend and I are very familiar with the service industry and are very patient when it comes to running orders. It wasn't until it was an hour after we were sat and the other waitress stopped by our table and had asked us what we ordered. I had told her that if it wasn't in the process of it being made that we could leave.. She said "No no it's being made I just want to clarify." We had told her and she went away to the back. Our original waiter meets us at the table again and asked if we were ready to order and we had let him know that we had already placed it. He also ran to the back and said "Oh right it's in the process."

Several minutes later our waiter met us at the table and apologized for the wait but our rolls have never been in the process but he could start them right now. He then stopped us short and told us "What I'm trying to say is do you want to leave?"

I have never been treated this way in a restaurant and I was left disappointed and hungry. I had such high hopes going in as well since my boyfriend had recommended this place as well. I hope others have a...

TLDR: Weird employee filmed us on the way out, denied it, then admitted it saying it was ā€œjust a little videoā€ and I was overreacting. Had been here a few times and thought it was solid for the price point but wont be back due to one employee, a male server working 5/16/24. Near the end of our meal he came over and rudely asked us ā€œif we were doneā€ after not interacting with us the whole time. We looked up the close time and realized it was 8 listed online so we went ahead and got the bill and paid our actual waitress. When we were walking out at 8:02, 2 mins after closing time after a $100+ meal, and I noticed the same male server with curly hair filming us walking towards the door on his phone but trying to act conspicuous. As I was walking out the door again, I saw the phone pan towards us and clearly saw he was taking a video that looked like a Snapchat. My only guess is he was complaining we were finishing up 2 mins after closing time? I called him out on it asking him why he was filming us, to which he initially denied he was filming. I said ā€œok then show me your phoneā€ and could see it was on Snapchat still. He then switched his story to it was ā€œjust a little videoā€ and insinuated I was overreacting, and kept laughing in my face like I was the one in the wrong. Since when is it normal to creepily film restaurant patrons, while trying to act secretly. It’s just weird. And if you had a problem with us staying 2 mins after closing until 8:02pm and that was your gripe why didn’t you stand by that and say it to me when confronted. Unless you want to be secretly filmed by a smug server after spending over $100 and tipping 20%, id consider...

Ordered online tonight, had my son pick up food for us. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I ordered Golden spring vegetable rolls, house garden salad w/ ginger dressing & the Samurai entree. The spring rolls were definitely frozen egg rolls!!! YUK!! That was noticeable from the look of them. I cut one open, & oh yeah, total mush!! $6.50!!!Then, I opened the container & found a whole lot of iceberg lettuce & 2 grape tomatoes NO GINGER DRESSING $4!!!!!, I could have made the exact salad here at home for nothing!!! Wonton soup, all I can say is the flavor was awful & the wontons were stuffed with something I've never tasted & I don't ever want to taste again $1, Then I opened my entree, it consisted of beef teriyaki & tempura shrimp & vegetables. Whoever packed the container was in a hurry, bc a little container of sauce was shoved on top of the tempura but was NOT completely closed & it leaked all over the tempura, causing the crunchy tempura to be soaked, mushy tempura by the time it reached my house. Really the only thing that was edible was the beef teriyaki. It had quite a bit of fat on the beef but the vegetables were ok $21. My husband had hot sour soup & shrimp fried rice, he wasn't too happy either but he is a garbage disposal, he will eat anything. Suffice to say, we won't order from there again. And I wish I would have actually visited this restaurant before ordering. People, don't waste your money. Overpriced & food is...

ā€œFresh Sushi, Great Flavors, Minor Availability Issueā€ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Otsu Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar serves up some truly impressive sushi! The fish was fresh, the flavors were spot on, and the presentation was excellent. It’s clear they take pride in the quality of their food, and I’d highly recommend it to any sushi lover. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that they were out of the majority of soups during my visit. It was a bit disappointing since I was looking forward to pairing my sushi with a warm bowl of miso or another classic option. Overall, the food and service were great, and I’ll definitely be back. Hopefully, next time the soup menu will be fully stocked to complete an otherwise fantastic dining experience!

These Native New Yorkers were pleasantly surprised! Best in San Marcos, don’t let the poor reviews deter you. The fish and nigiri were fresh and delectable. Good balance of rice to fish ratio. My hubby was raving about the Firefly squid and Hokkaido uni - both which are extremely rare to procure and execute. Flavor profiles were stronger in nigiri than the rolls in our opinion. However, we’re biased since we gravitate towards nigiri and sashimi more. The chutoro and otoro were good as well, nice scoring skills - melts in your mouth butter type. Oysters were on point too and dressed well. It’s refreshing to have quality seafood here in Texas. Give them a try!
